DEDICATION . . . . We, the Senior class of 1945, wish to dedicate this yearbook to the memory of Marie Frances Greenstreet who was killed September 1, 1944. Twelve years ago, Marie started the upward climb with 67 classmates. The classmates who continued this climb with her, liked her for her friendliness, cooperation, cheerfulness, and her modest personality. We of the Senior class, honor this classmate, who will long remain in our memories.

SENIOR CLASS HISTORY . . . . In the year nineteen hundred and forty-two, sixty-seven green freshmen
were interviewed at Bradley High School. Our manager was Rita Martin, co-manager, Bonnie Zasada; secretary, Marie Greenstreet, and treasurer, Richard Girvin, with Miss Fleming and Mr. Holtz as supervisors. With one step forward to our new goal for the future, we finally caught on to the daily routine without being jittery. The main subjects that fitted into our program were Practical Mathematics, Social Problems, General Science, English, and Workshop.
While some of our classmates scattered, about fifty-seven smiling faces appeared back into the factory of education, as we took our second step to the Sophomore year. Our supervisors were Miss Fleming and Mr. Laffey who took the place of Mr. Holtz who left in our Freshman year. Our direc-tors were Keith Hasemeyer and Bernard Leszczewiez ; secretary, Marie Green-street, and treasurer, Leonard Nelson. Looking forward to this second year of experience, we came in contact with the courses of Algebra, World History, Home Economics, Work Shop, English Two, and Latin One.
With our easiest years gone, we at. last settled down with forty-two of us in our Junior year. We elected for our officers this year : president, Ber-nard Leszezewiez, who left us in the middle of the year for the "armed for-ces"; vice president, Keith Hasemeyer who took over Bernard's position, secretary, Marie Greenstreet, and treasurer, Rita. Martin. Our sponsors were Miss Fleming and Mr. Laffey. The subjects chosen for this year were Shorthand, Typing, English, Civics, Economies, Chemistry, Speech, Arts, Physics, and Bookkeeping. We soon began to work on our Prom. To earn money, we sold refreshments at games, and school pencils, and also sponsor- ed a roller skating party. After many weeks of anxious waiting the big night came. It was held at the American Legion Home in Bradley on the night of May 23, 1944. Music was provided by Ross Melk 's Orchestra, and for our theme we chose a "Mexican Design." A grand time was had by everyone.
For four years now we have been toiling in the workshop of knowledge This year we are on our last round of everlasting success, with our Fore-man Lester Knickerbocker and his assistants, Marietta McCue, Beverley Lancaster, and Rita Martin. The managers of this Senior concern were Mr. Jepsen and Mrs. Sommerville. Our class dwindled down until there are only a mere thirty-seven left. Marie Greenstreet's death occurred at the opening. of the new workshop at Bradley High School, and was a definite set back to the employers and the employees. We have also lost Jack Raines to the "armed forces."

PROPHECY . . . . As we drift through the scenic town of Bradley, Illinois, we come upon
a small brick bungalow. As we draw nearer we discover the names Mr. and Mrs. Maisonneuve on the mail-box. We ring the doorbell and a young married woman hurrys to answer. Lo and behold, to our astonishment it is an old classmate, the former, MARY CLARY. She is surprised to see us and invites us in to have an afternoon cup of tea. Her husband, HARVEY MAISONNEUVE, is now owner of the Maisonneuve and Son's Cleaning Establishment, the largest one in this area. While sipping our tea, she asks if we have seen anything of our old classmates and she hurries to get out the 1945 year book. As we sit thumbing through the pages, we come across the Senior Class pictures. In no time at all we soon recognized the old familiar faces of our pals and friends. Mary tells us that the big shots of Bradley now are RICHARD BARRONE as Mayor; DEAN BOURELLE, Deputy Sheriff; WILLIS UMPHREY, Chief Fireman, and BILL SCHRAD-ER., Road Commissioner.
Since our days Bradley has changed quite a bit, and as we drive down the North Avenue that used to be the North Road, you will notice a group of beautifully constructed buildings that are now Bradley High School. As we enter this building we are greeted by the principal, LEONARD NELSON.
Continuing our long journey to the West Coast, we stopped over in the state of Kansas. While there, we decided to stop at the well-known Well-ington Theatre, where we find JEANNETTE HARTMAN the manager. Only a stone's throw away we find LORETTA WALSH chef at the Blinker Cafe.
Nearing the Lake View summer resort, where all the movie stars go on vacation from RKO, we stopped hoping to get. a glimpse of the famous romeo of the screen, LESTER. KNICKERBOCKER. His producers are SHIRLEY CANNON and HAROLD BUSHEY. We talked to Shirley and she said that DAISY BOOK and MILDRED HONZIK are working in the Chamness Laboratory. FRANCIS CHAMNESS has discovered a great process for making Nylon Hosiery and has become famous all over the world. We also learned that VERNA CHAMNESS was owner of the "Choo Choo" Cleaners located in Mexico.

PROPHECY . . . . ( Continued )
Walking down Sun Avenue, we stop in at the Cooler Drug Store only to see NORMA KRAY as the owner. She asks us if we have seen the latest Field and Stream Magazine with BENTON HUNTER and RAY PONICK-VAR'S pictures on the cover. They are well-known in the sports world. Ray is on the All-American football team and Benny is a famous forward on a great Illinois basketball team.
Recent news was that PAUL DIONNE crashed in his private plane and was taken to the Lesley Hospital where his private nurses-SHIRLEY HASEMEYER and PAULINE BURKHALTER are taking care of him. Visiting Paul, he tells us about his trip through the United States, where he saw JAMES TIMM in West. Virginia as a retired farmer and BERNARD LAMBERT as chief engineer on the crack streamliner "the Butterfly." We were also informed that MARIETTA McCUE and MARILYN MARTIN were nuns at the St. Joseph school in Nashville, Tennessee.
Reaching our destination in California, we are met at the station by AL-MA TAYLOR and GLENDORIS PRAY, who are both married. We learn from these two, that BONNIE ZASADA has joined her sister in managing the Palace Roller Rink in Hollywood. Down the street from the roller rink we find a fashion shop where RITA MARTIN, a former Powers Model now owns her own shop. BEVERLEY LANCASTER has written a famous book called "The Art of Being a Successful Secretary," based on her experience. ARDIS BUMPUS is the efficient secretary to the new president of the Unit-ed States who is KEITH HASEMEYER.
KENNETH CABIT, who married his high school sweetheart, and moved to Wyoming, now owns the largest cattle ranch in the world. We have heard that PHYLLIS HOOVER has achieved fame in her field as a mission-ary and has been in India for a number of years. DR. HAROLD MAR-TELL known around the world for medicine, has discovered a cure for all tropical diseases. We also salute EDITH HADDERS who has stood by Dr. Martell through the years as his assistant.
We are proud to see that the class of '45 turned out to be so successful in this post war world of progress.

SPORTS . . . . This year, Bradley's teams have shown the spirit to win that has always
characterized them in the past. During football season we had an abnormal number of injuries but still
the team kept fighting until that gun went off for the last. time. The records may not be as impressive as we would like, but still we are proud of a plucky team.
The basketball season was one grand affair. After seventeen consecutive victories, we tasted defeat at the hands of the powerful Champaign team. The season was one of the best for Bradley in several years. Watseka handed us one defeat and Kankakee overpowered us twice. The team played in two tournaments: Kankakee Valley Tournament and the Watseka Regional Tournament, winning the first. and taking second place in the other. They won the Kankakee Valley Conference without a defeat.
"In Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of . , . track and baseball." These two sports complete the athletic calendar, ending just before commencement.
Our cheerleaders, Shirley Book, Susan Hayes, and Jean Martell, did an excellent job of leading the cheering section. Even when defeat was certain, they never failed to lead a rousing cheer for the boys. Their poise and en-thusiasm on the field and the floor added much to the football and basketball games.

well on our way in this second semester of school.
2—A large crowd gathered in our gym to see Bradley play St. Anne.
5—County Institute for Teachers. That's a break for us, a day's vacation.
6—What a crowd! The Kankakee-Bradley game brought a tre-mendous turn-out, even though we lost.

16—Our first defeat on our home floor was deli us by Watseka by the close score of 38-40.
19—The Seniors are now flashing their new class rings.
20—Bill Schrader and Benny Hunter said they had so many com-plaints in the show about their new rings blinding the people that they had to take them off.
21—Off scheduled games with St. Pats took place at K. H. S. gym. We won.
22—Washington's birthday and even Willy couldn't fib. He owned up to every thing he did—that is if they caught him.
23—Everyone scrambled to the study hall to receive their 8th edition of the Bradleyan.
26—All the boys are asking Homer Martin how he charms the girls. He insists its his mus-tache.
27—Beginning of the Regional Tournament held at Watseka. Bradley's first game was with St. Anne whom we defeated with the score of 56-29.
28—Our team is resting up to be in condition for their coming games in the tournament. Re-port cards.
MARCH: 1—Third day of the Regional—
Boilermakers defeated Watseka in an exciting game by the nar-row margin of 2 points.
2—Sad day in Bradley. We were eliminated in the tournament
by old rival—Kankakee. 5—It seems that the boys and
girls of B.H.S. are having quite a time telling each other off about slacks and ties. 6—We find that fifteen students up to date have quit school. 7—Nelson Covy, speaker, gave us a
slant on life, to some it was new, and we all agree he had some
pretty good ideas. 8—The Seniors are selling pop at the
grade school tournament to increase their finances.
9—Have you noticed the profiles drawn in our Bradleyan?
12—Class tournaments started to-day. The Juniors defeated the Freshmen and the Seniors de-feated the Sophomores. Quite badly I might add.
13—Class tournaments continued to-day. The Juniors defeated the Sophomores, the Seniors defeated the Freshmen.
14—The Sophomore class beat the Freshmen, taking third place, and the Seniors beat the Jun-iors, thus declaring themselves champs of the class tourney in the finals.
15—Mr. Honn, Mr. Jepsen, Benny Hunter and Homer Martin at-tended the Champaign tourna-ment. They plan to go tomorrow afternoon too.
16—Why did everyone get a blue excuse for being absent ? That isn't. hard to figure out.
19—Clayton, why did Miss Stelter change your seat in second period study hall today? Juan-ita might know.
20—Yesterday the Seniors received their pictures. We might add that we had more movie stars than we realized in our class.
30—Easter vacation begins. Let's not forget the real purpose even though we like to display our clothes.
SCHOOL CALENDAR 21—Woe is me! Semester exams. Were you exempt?
APRIL: 16—Today the Seniors looked over
the classes and the campus of Normal College, to say nothing of the Sailors.
22—More exams! This is the end of another year. How did you , do? Tonight is the Junior-Senior Prom. Get home early kids.
25—Oh blissful day. The Seniors skipped school today. They seemed to have had a wonderful time judging from their conversations.
MAY: 1—Bradley opened the baseball
season with a bang. We beat Chebanse 11-1. Nice going boys!
20—Tonight is the beginning of the end of High School for the Seniors. Don't forget Baccal-aureate.
25—This is the end of four years of education for the Seniors. To-night is the High School Graduation. Good Luck Seniors!
