From the Director’s Desk: Dear readers, On this foundation day as we complete 28 years of academic excellence, we mark this day with celebrations in the honour- able presence of Honourable Governor of Jharkhand, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. I congratulate my team and share the pride and happiness of the parents on the stupendous performance of the students in the competitive examinations and the class X and XII Board Examinations. When work and commitment become one, excellence is reached. Children from their very tender years to the teenage years of growth and development show a predisposition to learn through play and exploration. To foster this predisposition we pioneered SHABD - the First Edition. The two day knowledge convergence was a turning event in the lives of all present as knowledge, information and ideas were shared under the directions of Mr. Parnab Mukherjee, the knowledge curator of SHABD and a versatile artist. DRISHYAM, the Bokaro Inter- national Film Festival, a first of its kind in Jharkhand state was hosted to promote appreciation for classic films. Internationally acclaimed movies were shown with a view to enhance the creative flair and intellectual acumen of the students. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Di- rector of various movies, Seema Kapoor, Screenplay writer of National Award winning movie ‘Abhay’ (Best Children’s film) and Ajit Ray, Director—World India Foundation and a re- nowned film critic shed light on the themes of the movies screened. The highlight of the event was ‘Meet the Director’ programme where the experts interacted with the students and the audience to enlighten them about the various aspects of films and movies. This year we have launched the mission ‘Swachch Sanatan’, that is to work towards a clean India promoting clean thoughts, clean mind and a clean soul. With each passing year we grow stronger in our resolve to mould dynamic global citizens who in selfless service to soci- ety find the purpose of their existence. VANDE MATRAM! Bharti 21 participating students from 11 schools

across the city presented their views on the protec-

tion of human values. Pratyush Kumar Shandilya

and Arya Barnwal of DPS Bokaro bagged 1st and

2nd positions.

Drishyam -2015 Bokaro

International Film festival, a

mega event, first of its kind

in Jharkhand was organized

on April 22nd 2015 in the

Ashvaghosh Kalabhawan .

Around 250 students from

schools across the city were a

part of this mega event. The

festival was graced by

Mr. Anutosh Maitra CEO,

BSL, who inaugurated the

event.

The day was marked with

saplings presented to the

Guests on the occasion of the

World Earth Day to promote

Swachh Sanatan. Badges of

Clean India, Green India were

worn by every individual. The

Later in the evening, parents and

teachers enjoyed the melodious

rendition of classical music recit-

als by Ganesh Mishra and team.

Scholastic Book Fair The scholastic Book Fair was

held for the first time in DPS

Primary Wing. Enthusiastic

children showed their interest

to own the books and

dedicated parents supported

them. It was an effort on the

part of the school to inculcate

the

habit of

reading

books.

Teachers along with more than

2000 students on the

first International Yoga

Day learnt

numerous

postures of

Yoga for a healthy living conducted

by Mr. Abhishek Kumar Pandey.

Few asanas

included Tadaasana, Vrik-

shaasana, Pada-hasta asana, Ardha

Chakra asana, Baddhakona asana,

Makara asana, Pawana Mukta

asana, Shavasana.

An Orientation Programme was conducted for

Class XI Students on 15 June, 2015 to induct them

into the DPS family.

Mohan. In an inclusive ad-

dress she made the students

aware of the school’s philoso-

phy, its values of respect and

responsibility, its Motto

add up to their zeal and

give them a direction few

life changing experiences were

shared by the top rankers and alumni.

Sports Summer Camp To accelerate the physical activities of children and to

engage the students fruitfully during the holidays, a

summer camp was conducted for around 100 students

from 11th - 29th May to enhance their skills in

Swimming, Basket ball, Volley ball and Athletics.

The recitation competition on

the theme ‘BIRDS AND

ANIMALS‘ was beautifully

presented on 25th June

2015.in the Primary wing.

Each House projected its best,

creating an awareness that

these are creatures who crave

for love and we as human

beings are the best equipped to

provide them with the same.

the names of House and

School Appointees in the

Primary wing. It was a

moment of joy to see the

leaders in the making. The

in CBSE Class XII Examinations

2015 with 229

students securing above 90% and

412 above 80% while the school

Average Aggregate is 85.81%.

The school toppers are Apala

Kaundilya with 96.20% followed

by Sudarshan Sharma, 95.60 % and

Shubham Kumar, Ankit Raj,

Devaditya Mohanty, Harshvardhan

and Atishey Jain with 95.40 %

each in Science Stream. In

Commerce Stream Nikita Raj

topped with 94.20% followed by

Nischay Agarwal with 93.00%.

Cheers of joy and happiness

filled the DPS Bokaro campus,

with the CBSE’s declaration of

the class X Board results.

The Learner’s Paradise took

humble pride in the centum pass

percentage of its 223 students

who appeared in the Board ex-

amination conducted by the

CBSE in

the month

of March

2015.

cent percent marks with CGPA

namely Chit-

wan Saharia

(AIR 148),

Anupriy (AIR 159) and Harsh Vard-

han (AIR 263). 221 students quali-

fied for the JEE Mains and around

100 have cracked the JEE Ad-vanced.

Ankit Raj qualified for both Bihar

and Jharkhand Medical entrance with

State rank 27 and 28. Shivam Kumar

with a state rank of 500 qualified for

the Jharkhand Medical.

Outstanding results in CBSE Class X and XII Examinations

In their maiden participation, DPS Bokaro swimmers

made their mark in the 7th Jharkhand State Sub Junior

and Junior Swimming Championship by winning 2

gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze medals in the overall tally

where Bokaro District Team became First runner-up.

Swimming Champions

Dipesh Kumar Lall won the Shell Junior National

Science Scholarship 2014 receiving a cash prize of

Rs. 50,000.

Alisha Siddique and Om Singh won the

1st and 3rd prizes in Group I and Raj in

Group II won the 2nd prize in a painting

competition on the Theme “Make In

India” organized by SAIL.
