CLASS V LOTUS ASSEMBLY Students of class V Lotus conducted a special assembly on Janmashtami and Teacher’s Day which
started with "Sarv Dharam Prarthana and English prayer. They presented the thought of the day,
vocabulary word and current news followed by a short G.K Quiz. They also presented a melodious song
on Janmashtami and highlighted the importance of Teacher’s day through a speech on importance of teachers in our lives. The assembly concluded with the National Anthem.
ADJECTIVES
Students of grade 4 Lotus did an activity on ‘Adjectives’ in an effort to learn the effective use of Adjectives. They created a tree of adjectives and made a pictorial representation with adjectives. It was
an exciting experience for them.
SARVANAAMA Students of grade 4 lotus actively engaged in the learning of Sarvanaam. They worked in groups,
discussing the concept and also created various charts mentioning types and examples of pronoun. They
framed meaningful sentences using pronouns.
EXTEMPORE To imbibe a true spirit of learning in students and to enhance communication skills among students, an
Intra Class Extempore Competition was held for students of classes IV and V. The students picked up chits for their topics and spoke for one minute on it. They were judged on the basis of content, relevance,
confidence, clarity etc.
GRANDPARENTS’ DAY and JANAMASHTMI Students of class III put up a heart-warming presentation on the occasion of Grandparents’ Day to express their love for
them. The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp followed by the Sarv Dharma Prarthana followed by the welcome address by Principal Anita Sethi. The students presented a skit which aptly showed the unconditional love and
care the children get and how they also take care of their grandparents. This was followed by some fun games like ‘Couple
Dance’ and Run to Win’ for the guests. Starz and Class I also had their class presentation to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna on the occasion of Janamashtmi.
The tiny tots mesmerized the audience with phonics poetry and a skit on the childhood antics and incidents of Krishna with his friends. Krishna along with his friends also broke a matki of ‘maakhan’ amidst a shower of flowers.
HINDI WEEK To rekindle the love for Hindi among students, Hindi week was celebrated with great zeal. Day 1 was
celebrated with a Story telling session in STARZ, and classes 1-2 and 4-5, tried to get the Tongue Twisters right. Class 3 participated in a story telling competition where students narrated stories in
Hindi. They were judged on their expression and presentation skills as they recited Hindi stories with
actions and expressions.
On day 2 Nursery students participated ina Speaking Competition expressing their feelings for their
mothers and classes Prep to Class 3 took part in a Hindi Calligraphy Competition. Class 4 and 5 participated in Inter-house Quiz on Muhavras and pitted their skills against one another. On day 3 A
Show and Tell competition was held for STARZ students and classes 1 and 2 took part in Story Telling
competition. Class 3 recited tongue twisters and classes 4 and 5 were involved in Calligraphy
Competition. Day 4 started with Recitation Competition in STARZ and classes 1-3 were involved in a
Story session. Classes 4 and 5 were involved in Inter house Doha Vaachan competition where students recited spiritual and moral dohas of Kabir Das and Rahim.

Students of class IV Daisy presented a class assembly which started with a prayer to the Almighty followed by the गायत्री
महामंत्र. followed by the word of the day, thought for the day and news headlines. A quiz on Muhavaras , doha vachan
and story- telling were also presented.
LOVE FOR MATHS
Students of class 5 Lotus engaged in various class activities to strengthen their concepts of Mathematics
and develop a better clarity regarding the factors and multiples of numbers. They also created a Venn
diagrams to understand more about common factors. They tried different numbers to identify common
factors and were able to recognize the highest common factor i.e., HCF.
MARVELLOUS MACHINES Students of Class 5 Daisy organized a Gallery walk on working models of simple machines wherein they
prepared the model of a simple machine of their choice. They presented their model and how these
machines make our day to day activities much easier and simpler!
An exhibition of simple machines was also held wherein the students looked at the amazing displayed
machines which made their concepts clearer.
PLAYING WITH NOUN
“Once the grammar has been learned, writing is simply talking on paper.”
Students of class 1 were involved in an activity to revise their concepts of Countable-
Uncountable and Singular-Plural noun. PEC activities and group work helped them to
learn from each other and also develop their collaborative skills.
QUIZ TIME An Inter House General Knowledge Quiz was organized for grade I-III. The quiz was conducted in four
rounds namely visual round, buzzer round, One-minute round and the final timer round. The students
pitted their skills against won another and learnt from each other.
TEACHERS DAY AND HANDWASH DAY WEEK STARZ
Teachers’ day and Swachta Pakhwada was celebrated for Starz students with different activities. The
tiny tots celebrated Teachers day by making beautiful cards for their teachers. They also celebrated
handwash day as a part of SWACHTA PAKWADA. An audio-visual program was undertaken to
motivate the tiny tots to maintain the cleanliness and to avoid contact with germs.
INTER CLASS YOGA STARZ
Yoga forms an integral part of our school curriculum and an Inter Class Yoga Competition was held in
Starz to develop their Gross motor skills
The students performed various Asanas like Suryanamskar, Ushtrasana, Padmasana, Tadasana and
Vijrasana with ease and perfection.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO OPULENT MALL To give an exposure to real life usage of money and budgeting, students of class IV visited the ‘Opulent
Mall- Ghaziabad’. The visit played an important role in educating our learners in a practical and
interesting manner. Students were divided into groups to buy things and were able to utilize money very
well. This visit provided each student with a new experience outside their everyday activities.
ROLE PLAY
Students of class III participated in a Role play on the Solar System. Students conducted their research
work on astronauts, constellation and zodiac signs. They collected data by recording the changing phase of the moon and understood the concepts of new moon, crescent and full moon. They also demonstrated
rotation and revolution after which a quiz was conducted to assess their knowledge.
INTRODUCING LETTERS Students of class 2 learnt the process of sending messages via letters under the theme ‘HOW WE
EXPRESS OURSELVES’. They watched a video to learn about the duties of a postman and how letters
travel. They also learnt to make envelopes and address them with pin code etc.
ENJOYING MATHS
“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics.” Said by Paul Halmos.
Keeping this objective in mind, an activity on Numbers was conducted in Grade 1 where students
presented different concepts of Numbers like number names, less than, more than, place value and skip
counting through flowers. They also made an abacus to show their understanding of place value with ice
cream sticks and bindis.
ORANGE DAY WEEK STARZ
Colours are the smiles of the nature, so is the colour ORANGE. Starz students participated in different activities designed to challenge their thinking and develop their
understanding of the Orange colour. On day1 the tiny tots learnt the spelling of Orange and a rhyme on
it. On day 2 Children watched the movie of THE STORY OF TIBETAN. On day 3 Children participated
in a kitchen activity in which they made orange tang and got the take away of orange colour carrots. On
day 4 Our little ones came dressed up in vibrant shades orange and learnt the health benefits of the fruit.
GEOMETRY
“Mathematics is not only about numbers, equations, computation , or algorithms ; it is also about
Understanding.” said by William Paul Thurston.
Keeping this objective in mind an activity on Geometry was conducted in Grade 5 where the students
presented different concepts of Geometry like lines , angles, circle and its parts through role play. They
presented these concepts through body, charts, songs and by taking the role of a facilitator.
SPECIAL HOUSES “House is built with bricks and beams, home is built with love and dreams.”
Class 1 explored the idea of houses in their theme – Where We Are in Place and Time. After learning
about Kutcha and Pucca houses, they went on to learn about Special Houses such as Tent, Igloo, Tree
house, House boat etc. They watched videos and PPT and later presented their special houses using models and pictures. They highlighted where the houses are found, what they are made up of and other
special features.
HINDI WEEK - STARZ Hindi Week was celebrated in STARZ to highlight the importance of Hindi. An array of events were conducted with the motive to enhance the language skills and make learning more enjoyable. On day 1
the tiny tots had story telling session after which they were given a beautiful angel and axe as a take
away. On day 2 they had a Hindi speaking competition on My Mother where they spoke few lines on
their mother and also had a Calligraphy Competition.
On day 3 Our tiny tots had a Show and Tell activity in which they were given some objects to describe. On day 4 they had Hindi Rhyme Recitation Competition where our tiny tots recited very beautiful
rhymes with props. On day 5 Our tiny tots enjoyed speaking Tongue Twisters.

GANESH CHATURTI
The significance of Ganesh Chaturthi was shared with our tiny tots and they made very beautiful idols
of Ganesh ji with thermocole and glass.
EXPLORE SPACE
Students of class 3 learnt how technology has changed to understand the solar system. They made paper
rockets, satellites, telescopes and periscopes and shared the hands on experience of teacher through an album of Kennedy Space Centre. At the end of the theme they reflected on their learning and a Quiz
was also conducted to check their knowledge.
WHITE COLOUR WEEK - STARZ.
White colour indicates peace and symbolizes purity. Starz students participated in different activities to
identify and understand the importance of White colour. On day 1 Tiny tots had Rhyme Time in which
they recited the rhyme of white colour. They also learnt the spelling of white. On day 2 they had a story
session where they enjoyed the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. On day 3 in the kitchen
activity they learnt how to make coconut laddus and on
day 4 they participated in a cotton pasting activity. On day 5 Our tiny tots came in beautiful white
outfits and made White Dogs with thermocol glass.
CLUBS – JOY OF LEARNING
The school believes in overall development of the kids and therefore gives them a range of Club options
to choose from – Dramatics, Music, Community Connect, STEM, Zumba, Western Dance, Indian Dance,
Debate, Sculpture, Flameless Cooking, Best Out of Waste etc. In Dramatics club, students learnt to act
like their favourite cartoon character, in music they learnt various cords on guitar. Making environment
friendly paper bags and Each one-Teach one was the task undertaken by Community Connect Club.
The students in STEM learnt about Magnetic separations and they developed clarity on shapes through
a field trip. In Western dance and Indian dance, students learnt various steps and expressions while
through Zumba, students enjoy exercises in the form of dance with music. Debate Club organized a
debate competition for the students for classes IV and V on Should cell phones be allowed in school’ .
Students trying their hand in sculpture learnt to create relief work using frames and create moulds and
patterns. Students learnt to make creative pots, flowers, beautifying dustbins, pen holders and paintings
using glue and foil paper in the Best Out of Waste Club. Students also learnt various recipes and made
yummy dishes like sandwiches, pasta salad, bhelpuri and sprouts in the Flameless Cooking club. This can
prove to be a platform for them later in life to explore career possibilities.
ALL INDIA ASTEROID SEARCH CAMPAIGN
Our students Yashwin Pant and Jai Khurana of class X participated in ALL INDIA ASTEROID SEARCH CAMPAIGN
(AIASC), one of the most prominent programs conducted by SPACE India in collaboration with International
Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC, Hardin-Simmons University, Texas, USA). They made twelve provisional
discoveries of asteroids and were awarded certificates in recognition of their discoveries.
BEYOND HORIZONS – A CLASS IX PRESENTATION
DPSG International once again highlighted the social issues of gender bias and equality of opportunity through the Class
IX Annual presentation. They presented a skit highlighting the biased attitude of society towards girls and the need to
change our perspective. The lighting of the lamp was followed by an inspirational song by the students. Scholar badges
for session 2017-18 were also presented to meritorious students in the presence of their parents. Speaking on the occasion
principal Anita Sethi congratulated the scholars and urged the other students to put in more efforts.
The vote of thanks was proposed by secondary wing coordinator Rekha Guleria.
HINDI WEEK
The Hindi week was celebrated to encourage students to respect and love their mother tongue.
The week commenced with an Inter Class Slogan Writing Competition for classes VI –IX.
A ‘Hindi Kavita Vachan’ Competition for classes VI-VIII was also held along with a debate for class IX-XII on Caste based
Reservation prevalent in our country. The culmination of the week was an Inter House Skit Competition where students
showed their acting skills by presenting eye opening skits on ‘Swachchhata Abhiyan’ & ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’.

MATHEMATICS WORKSHOP
“Mathematics is the art of giving the same name to different things “Henry Poincare”
The school in association with the Russian Embassy organized a workshop on International On-Line Mathematics exams
which would encourage the students to learn at their own pace, based on their level of knowledge both in school and at
home. The fun and interactive tasks of the exam are designed in a child-friendly game form which allow the students to
think out of the box.
Over 1 million students of the primary schools of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and India will participate in the
competitions which was officially launched on July 25, 2018 with the support of the Embassy of Russia and the Russian
Centre of Science and Culture. The purpose of the BRICSMATH.COM competition is to unite children of the BRICS
countries in a Mathematical contest, and develop logical thinking and increase interest in the exact sciences.
TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATIONS
Citations, games, dances and fun marked the Teachers’ Day celebrations at DPSG International. The students presented
songs, dances, a skit and a heart touching speech to honour their mentors and teachers. On a lighter note, students also
organized some fun games for the teachers. Principal Anita Sethi wished all the teachers on the occasion and blessed the
students for the efforts they put in to make the day special for the teachers.
