SCHOOL ANNUAL REPORT-2020-21
DPS RN Extension is a live, energetic school throbbing with various activities. The school keeps
looking for innovative methods to keep the students interested in subjects and for learning new things.
The entire activity calendar is designed carefully taking into account various talents and interests
which need to be boosted and every child finds a niche to excel in. The school has always believed in
involving parents in many of the activities to give a wholesome feel to the child. Recently, DPS RN
Extension celebrated Yoga week which culminated on 21st June
2021, International Yoga day. The online Yoga workshop involved both parents and students of the
school. Many parents joined the workshop enthusiastically and learnt various Yoga asanas from our
yoga expert.
The school has always been conscious about the environment and has done many activities which
motivates people to reduce their carbon footprints. The school has taken part in an initiative by Green
School Programme and had drawn up an action plan to transform wastes into useful things and also
make sure that in the end the utilisation of waste do not generate new waste.
The holistic and overall development of the child has always been our goal. The students of classes 9
to 12 were motivated to join IAYP programme which challenges the students to better their own
performance in the areas of skills and physical activities. Also the programme ensured that they
develop a spirit for adventure and empathy for the under privileged members of the society and a
heart to care for animals and environment.
The teachers are encouraged to take up courses of professional development and attend workshops to
enhance their teaching skills. The teachers are able to use the knowledge gained in their pedagogical
practices.
The school has adopted a village school and have provided materials like furniture for students, books
and blankets were also distributed. Periodic visits to orphanages and old age home are organized to
help the needy and also to bring a sense of empathy in our students.
All the classrooms are fitted with smart boards and the teachers are given advanced training so that
they can use all the technology provided for teaching effectively.
Even though the instructions are done online due to COVID restrictions, the fun factor of learning has
not diminished. Each lesson has a series of activities with and art integration to make it more
interesting.
STUDENT COUNCIL 2020-21
We're delighted to announce that DPS Raj Nagar Extension has a new set of student representatives
for the academic year 2020-21. The newly selected Student Council comprises 30 students from
classes VIII to XII representing the entire student fraternity of the school.

International Dimension in Schools 2021-2023 (IDS- BRITISH COUNCIL)
It is celebration time for DPS RN Extension as our school has
been accredited by the British Council for our efforts to embed
international aspect in our school curriculum and have been
awarded 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 (𝐈𝐃𝐒)
𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 for the period 2020-23. This award was formerly
known as International School Awards.
GREEN SCHOOL AWARD
Go GREEN! There is no planet B.
DPS RN EXTENSION had successfully submitted the green
audit for Green School Programme, an initiative of CSE
(Centre for Science and Environment) and was certified
'Green' in the 2019-20 audit. The audit was conducted on
various parameters of land, air, water, energy, waste, and food.
Students from classes 8 to 11 were involved in conducting the
survey under the guidance of GSP coordinator Ms. Lakshmi
Srinivasan and Mr. Bharat Kumar. Three students along with
Ms. Lakshmi and Mr. Bharat attended the award ceremony
INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR YOUNG PEOPLE (IAYP)
DPS R.N. Extension congratulates the IAYP awardees.
Out of nineteen students registered with International Award for
Young People (aka the Duke of Edinburgh Award), five students
completed activities in the bronze level, and fourteen students
completed activities in the silver level and received badges and
certificates as per the level achieved. The aim of this programme is to
motivate young people to become involved in a balanced programme
of voluntary and self-development activities.
ROCK SCHOOL LONDON
DPS R.N. Extension is proud to present the students who had
performed commendably in the Western Music Grade Exam
conducted by Rockschool, London in November 2020. It was a
skill-based exam which needed close mentoring and the students
appeared for various grade from debut to grade 3 on instruments
such as Drums, Acoustic Guitar and Ukulele. Despite the online
mode of instructions, out of eleven students who had appeared,
nine got distinction and two got Merit. Congratulations to all the
achievers.
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
The students of DPS Raj Nagar Extension showed their mettle once
again through their brilliant performance in the National Science
Olympiad (NSO) 2020-21 conducted by Science Olympiad
Foundation (SOF). Congratulations to all the students on their success
in the Olympiad.
MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD
Our students have achieved 8 gold medals of excellence, 1
international silver medal, and 2 medals of distinction in the
International Mathematics Olympiad. We applaud their hard work
and outstanding performance.
ENGLISH OLYMPIAD
We are proud to highlight the outstanding achievements of our
students in the International English Olympiad (IEO) 2020-21
conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). Their
achievements reflect their hard work and perseverance to perfect
their command over the language.
JEE
We are delighted to announce the outstanding achievement of our
student Navankur Shrotriya in IIT JEE Mains 2021. We wish him
every success as he embarks on his next academic journey.
OTHER AWARDS
Yet again our students Aditi Prashar, Aman Razdan, and Riyaan Upadhyaya made us proud by
winning the titles in different events.
Aditi Parashar participated in the German event 'Ein Thema Behandeln' organized by the Amity
International School, Saket and was awarded with a special category prize 'Judge’s Choice Award' in
the German event on her linguistic capabilities.
Riyaan Upadhyaya bagged the 3rd position in 'Breakout 2020' 'Drum Solo Competition' the Annual
Cultural Event organized by the Amity International School, Saket.
Aman Razdan won 2nd position at district level in VVM 2020-21, India's largest talent search
examination f or new India using digital devices and has been selected for the 2nd round in the UP
state level.

INSPIRE AWARDS MANAK SCHEME 2020-21
We're elated to share the success of our student Nirbhay
Kaushik (Class VIII) who had won an award of Rs. 10,000/-
in the INSPIRE AWARDS MANAK SCHEME 2020-21
conducted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt.
of India, on the Project ‘SHOCK ABSORBING
STRETCHER’. Nirbhay will be representing his project at the
district level exhibition. Congratulations!

COMPETITION–CORONA KO HARANA HAI, BHARAT SE BHAGANA HAI
The State Education Department (DIOS) organized a
competition on the topic–Corona ko harana hai, bhaarat se
bhagaana hai for the students of grades VI to XII.
Our students participated in different competitions like Essay
writing competition, Slogan Writing Competition and Song
Writing Competition and presented their ideas on this topic
with great zeal and enthusiasm.
MY LIFE MY YOGA” VIDEO BLOGGING COMPETITION- Ministry of Ayush
Yoga is a path towards total
harmony of body, mind, and spirit.
It is a science of healthy living. So,
with an aim to encourage the healthy
habit of yoga among the students, an
online competition was organized
for the students of classes III to VIII
on 20th June, 2020. This activity was
a part of a competition organized by
the Ministry of AYUSH in which
the students were supposed to send their short videos on yoga poses. Our students participated in this
competition by sharing their videos on different poses of Yoga enthusiastically.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 21 June 2021
International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21st
June every year to raise awareness of
practising yoga and the benefits of yoga. Yoga
is a physical, mental and spiritual practice. So,
with an aim to encourage the healthy habit of
yoga, DPS R.N. Extension celebrated
International Yoga Day on 21 June, 2020
virtually. Students along with their parents and
teachers participated in the event with great
enthusiasm.
CBSE EXPRESSION SERIES – THINKING INNOVATIVELY IN UNPRECEDENTED
TIMES LIKE COVID-19
The current scenario in which every country is facing a difficult challenge in the form of COVID -19
is one such situation where everyone needs to think innovatively to surpass the challenge. CBSE
organized a virtual platform wherein our students got the opportunity to creatively express their ideas
/ views on the theme ‘Thinking Innovatively in unprecedented times like Covid -19′.
An online event was organized by CBSE, in which our students expressed and shared their ideas on
this theme through different forms on 28th June, 2020. The students from classes III to V wrote
paragraphs and the students from classes VI to VIII composed beautiful poems. The students of
classes IX and X expressed their thoughts through art by making paintings. The students of classes
XI and XII also participated in the event by sharing their innovative ideas through paragraphs and
poems .All the students participated in this event with great zeal.
ONLINE ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON ‘ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT -
SWATANTRA BHARAT’ (CBSE)
An online essay writing competition was organized by Ministry of Human
Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India on the theme –
Aatmanirbhar Bharat – Swatantra Bharat for the students of secondary and
senior secondary classes. An online essay writing competition was organized
by our school on the same topic on 20 August, 2020. Our students from grades
IX to XII participated in this competition with great zeal and shared their great
ideas on Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the importance of self-reliance
enthusiastically.
e-Raksha Competition 2020 organised by Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET)
and NCERT in collaboration with NCPCR
CIET-NCERT in collaboration with Cyber Peace Foundation and National Commission for Protection
of Child Rights (NCPCR) launched e-Raksha Competition 2020 for students, teachers and caregivers
(parents or guardians).
The competition aimed to educate and empower young minds to use the potential of the Internet for
their learning and development, and to be smart and secure. It provides a creative and important outlet
for children and young people to reflect and share their view of being safe and responsible on the
Internet and developing digital citizenship and online safety among children. The competition
encouraged participants to think creatively about online safety and digital citizenship meant to them
and share their ideas through Wordhack (articles, stories, blogs, essays), Artcade (painting, poster,
sticker, sketch), Short self-created Videos and Tech Avishkar (innovative Tech Programs using latest
tools and techniques).
Twelve students of DPS R.N. Extension School registered in various categories and displayed their
project in the form of beautifully presented handmade posters, short videos and also expressed their
suggestions of responsible netizens.

SADAK SURAKSHA WEEK
Delhi Public School R.N. Extension observed the Sadak Suraksha Week with much verve from
1February – 6 February, 2021. Several activities and programmes were organized virtually to educate
the students about road safety, driving rules and areas of special caution. The Sadak Suraksha
Campaign aims at sensitizing the community, schools, colleges, workplaces, commuters, etc., about
the various aspects of road safety. It is designed to accentuate the need for safe road travel by
following the traffic rulebook.
The week-long celebration created awareness about the role that school children can play in making
our roads safer and hereby preventing road mishaps. Young and conscious Dipsites seemed to
assimilate their role as empowered future citizens and embraced the onerous responsibility to bring
about a change in the mindset of the adults who view traffic rules as a deterrent.
The school endeavors to conduct special assemblies / events / Intra Class Competitions and Inter
House Competitions to keep children engaged and continue to participate.
INTERNATIONAL FAMILY DAY “The most important thing in the world is family and love"
Keeping the same thought in mind, DPS RN Extension
asked parents and students of grade Nursery to VIII to
take part in various activities on the occasion of
International Family Day on 15th May 2020.These
activities included making a photo frame of a family
picture with mom and dad, reading time with family, play
indoor games, making a small video where child speaks
about his/her family, happy meal time with parents in a
special way, helping family members with household
chores and antakshari time with family etc.
VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP
A Virtual Summer Camp was conducted by Delhi Public
School R. N. Extension for children of classes Nursery-
II in order to learn new skills in a safe and nurturing
environment through online classes. The camp duration
was 2 weeks, commencing from 1st June 2020, and
continuing till 12th June 2020. Many students
participated in different activities.
Van Mahotsava Week
Keeping the spirit of Van Mahotsav alive, the students of classes Nursery
-II participated enthusiastically in LET'S GO GREEN activities where
they made their own earth using paper & waste plates, Plant sapling. I
care for my earth- Crown Making Activity & Trees are our friends -
Poster making activity etc.
Through the activity, they conveyed very beautiful messages and the
importance of plants and trees in our life. These activities helped them in
understanding the various ways to keep our earth green and also
strengthened the bond between plants and humans.
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY
“Friendship is the purest of all relations. It is a special gift
generously given, happily accepted and deeply
appreciated”
To imbibe this beautiful bond of friendship and true feelings
in the hearts of our young generations, Delhi Public School
R.N. Extension conducted an online activity for classes IV &
V on the occasion of International Friendship Day which is
celebrated on 30th July every year all over the world. The
students of class IV designed wonderful trophies/certificates
and the students of class V prepared creative posters for their
friends.
RAKSHA BANDHAN…...a bond of love
An Eco-Friendly Rakhi Making Activity was organized in class
Prep on 30th July wherein the children were told about the sacred
bond between a brother and a sister. The little ones made beautiful
lion faces, cupcakes and flower rakhis using mouli/raksha dhaga
and decorated them beautifully with colourful bindis and old
buttons.
All children tied rakhi on their wrist in the name of their brother
and sister.The tiny tots participated enthusiastically in the activity
and enjoyed it to the fullest.
Thali Decoration Activity
On 30th July' 20, Thali Decoration activity was arranged for
classes I and II where each and every student was asked to
decorate a thali for festive celebrations on Raksha Bandhan.
The students were asked to arrange the required/available
materials and decorate thali in their own creative way.
The main aim of the activity was to help the students to exhibit
their talent, showing love towards brother and pray to God by
decorating "Thali" with different cutout of flowers, mirrors, lace,
stones and other items. Children decorated thalis beautifully.
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
At Delhi Public School R. N. Krishna Janmashtami was
celebrated virtually by the students of classes Nursery-II on
Monday, August 10, 2020. The classes performed different
activities virtually along with their teachers which brought
devotion, creativity, enjoyment and fun all together amongst
our little ones.In class Nursery, children came dressed in
ethnic wear as Radha and Krishna. The tiny tots also made
beautiful paper peacock feather crowns, decorated and wore
them like cute little Krishnas and little Radhas. Lord
Krishna’s constant accessory is a flute, so in class Prep,
children made colourful paper flutes (murli) and decorated
them with glitter, mirrors, colourful buttons, mauli, etc. Bal
Krishna is commonly known as Makhan Chor and class I
children were involved in making and decorating paper craft
makhan matki. Lord Krishna, in his infant form, loved eating
butter and would gather his friends to steal the butter from the
handi. Therefore, children of class II did an activity of
decorating curd pots (dahi handi).
Through all these activities, the students transported one to
the world of splendor, colour, myth and legend. All the
children of classes Nursery-II participated in the activities
with great zeal and enthusiasm. The virtual Janmashtami
celebrations were indeed truly informative, enlightening and
entertaining for our students.
WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY
August 19 is observed as World Photography Day, which
aims to inspire photographers across the planet to share
photos with a simple purpose: to share their world with the
world. To celebrate the same, DPS RN Extension
conducted a photography activity on the 19th of August
2020. It was an open activity for the students of class IX
to XII.
The very purpose of photography activity was to bring
forward our talented photographers, to encourage and
motivate them and also to identify the best photographer.
The activity was also to inspire students to see the world
of possibilities that are there in photography.
INTERNATIONAL LITERACY DAY
International Literacy Day is celebrated on 8th September
every year across the globe to commemorate the
importance of literacy in everyone’s life. So, with an aim
to spread awareness regarding the importance of literacy
for the benefit of society, DPS R.N. Extension organized
a “Book Donation Drive” on September 7, 2020. The
students from classes I to XII took part in the drive very
enthusiastically and donated different story books,
novels, colouring books, old textbooks, comics,
notebooks etc. to the needy children. The students felt
really happy and satisfied by contributing towards a noble
cause and received blessings from the needy people.
INTERNATIONAL GRANDPARENTS DAY CELEBRATION
To show their love and respect for their
grandparents, the little ones of classes
Nursery -II, Delhi Public School R. N.
Extension, made colourful Hanging Photo
Frames, ice cream stick grandparents
puppet, hanging of love & paper bag to
show their love to the Grandparents.
They also decorated the craft with glitter, buttons, flower cut-outs, mirrors. All children participated
in the activity with great zeal and enthusiasm.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE
Peace is the music of every soul. Our glory lies in
understanding, listening and honouring that music.
International Day of Peace (World Peace Day) is observed on
21st September every year to promote peace among nations and
people. With an aim to inculcate this spirit in the students, an
"Intra Class Poster Making Competition" was organized for the
students of class V on September 17, 2020.
All the students participated in this activity enthusiastically and
designed beautiful posters. E- Certificates were also awarded to
the selected students for this competition.
World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every
year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental
health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in
support of mental health.
INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY
Little girls with dreams become women
with visions.
For a country to have a bright future, girls
empowerment is essential. They have the
power to change many things in the
society so they must be given equal
opportunities in every field, irrespective
of gender.
In this view, DPS RN Extension has celebrated *International Day of Girl Child on 8th October, 2020
where the students of classes I and II portrayed the character of many influential and talented women
personalities like - Kalpna Chawla, Kiran Bedi, Sushma Swaraj, Sakshi Malik, Sudha Chandran, Mary
Kom and Gita Gopinath.
Global Handwashing Day
‘It’s not as elementary as it appears – hand washing is a
careful process that must be done right’ Delhi Public School
R.N. Extension celebrated the Global Hand washing Day-
an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing
awareness and understanding about the importance of hand
washing with soap as an easy, effective, and affordable way
to prevent diseases and save lives. The parents were asked
to guide their wards about the right techniques of washing
hands at regular intervals. The students enthusiastically
participated in the hand washing activity and got happy
pictures clicked.
Dussehra Celebration
“Celebrate the victory of the forces of Good over Evil. Let’s celebrate this auspicious day to begin
new things in life” …Happy Dussehra!!
Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashmi (or Bijoya in Bengal),
is the culmination of the nine-day Navaratri celebrations. It is
a festival that marks the killing of Ravana, his son Meghnad
and brother Kumbhakarn, by Lord Rama. It is seen as the
victory of good over evil. Students of classes Nursery and Prep
of Delhi Public School R. N. Extension celebrated this
auspicious festival by holding a special E-Assembly on 25th
October, 2020.
Intra Class Show & Tell Competition
Show and tell’ is an important part of children's learning and
development, as it helps them to organize information and build their
confidence. Keeping this in mind, DPS RN Extension organised a
‘Show and Tell Competition’ for the students of Grades - I and II to
showcase their presentation skills.
In this competition students used a number of different objects and
props like soft toys, pictures, toy cars, charts, etc and used it in an
innovative way to describe it with a lot of confidence, facial
expression and voice modulation. The students were excited to share
their descriptive narration and waited eagerly for their turn and to
share the knowledge. It was a fun-filled competition for them.
RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS: Unity in diversity is one of the most powerful characteristics of
India. National Unity day is celebrated on
31st October every year to commemorate
the birth anniversary of the "Iron Man '' of
India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who played
a major role in the integration of India from
over 560 princely states.
An E-Assembly was organised by our
students in which they spread the message
of unified India and also to preserve the
unity, integrity, and security of the nation. Please have a look! Happy
National Unity Day.
DIWALI CELEBRATION
Diwali, the festival of lights was
celebrated with great pleasure by
the students of classes Nursery to V
on November 5, 2020. The students
of classes Nursery and Prep made
beautiful paper rangoli. The
students of classes I and II decorated
the diyas and prepared colourful
paper lanterns. The students of
classes III, IV and V designed
beautiful T- light candle holders,
made shubh labh designs and door hangings. All the students participated in the Diwali Craft activities
with great zeal and enthusiasm.
INTER HOUSE TORAN MAKING COMPETITION
With the festive spirit all around in these otherwise difficult times,
DPS R.N. Extension organized an online Inter House Toran Making
Competition for the students of grades VI to VIII. All the students
exhibited an unparalleled level of enthusiasm.
Keeping the spirit of Deepawali alive, students with great
enthusiasm made beautiful and innovative torans using eco-friendly
and easily available decorative materials. They used vibrant colours
and aesthetic ideas to enhance their work. It was a great feast for the
eyes to see the exquisite craft work of the students.
CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS
DPS R.N. Extension celebrated
Children’s Day on the 12 th of
November virtually this year due to
the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
The teachers went out of their way
to use technology and do the best
they could in these gloomy times.
From singing sessions to quizzes to
plays to online jam sessions &
fashion shows; a plethora of
activities were conducted virtually
by teachers for their loving students. It was a fun filled day and the kids participated enthusiastically.
“STAY CYBER SAFE” POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
An Intra Class Poster Making Competition on the theme 'STAY CYBER SAFE' for classes IX &
XI organized on Friday, 27th November 2020 to educate the young minds to use the internet sensibly
for their learning and growth.
In times of Covid – 19 pandemic, Virtual classrooms have become the new norm and digital media
has become an invaluable tool for the children to continue their learning. It is, therefore, an urgent
need of the hour to sensitize children towards the use of technology. It is always an endeavor of Delhi
Public School R.N.Extension to Foster a creative environment to sharpen the visual spatial acuity of
the learners.
The students of class IX and XI enthusiastically participated in the poster making competition and
showed their artistic skills on the canvas and gave a message on how to be safe and responsible digital
citizens. During the process of their research they also learned how to critically assess, verify and
smartly respond to the fake news and misinformation.
National Pollution Control Day
*National Pollution Control Day Activities*
The only solution to pollution is a people's humane revolution!
2nd December of every year is observed as the National
Pollution Control Day in India.
Keeping the same thought in mind, DPS RN Extension has
organised different activities for the children of grades I and II
where children made beautiful posters, wrote powerful
slogans, water pollution demonstration and beautiful sheets
were coloured by the children.
The aim of these activities were to sensitise them about the causes and effects of pollution.
These activities turned out to be highly enriching, enthralling, exciting and developed the sense of
love for the environment among all the children.
Pollution has become an important issue worldwide as it is
increasing day by day around us. Many countries are facing
defective child births and high mortality rates due to pollution.
Children are the future of the world. They need to know about
the harmful effects of pollution and its causes. So with an aim
to sensitize the children about pollution, DPS RN Extension
conducted online activities for the children of Grade III to V.
The topic of class III activity was “Do’s and don’ts to keep
our Earth pollution free planet” where children came up with
their ideas on how to keep the Earth pollution free for our
living. The topic of class IV activity was “Write 10 ways to
save energy” where children penned down their views on
saving the energy to reduce pollution. The topic of class V
activity was “Oil simulation” where children did a hands on experiment to separate oil from water by
using different methods like skimming, absorbing, dispersing etc. They also observed the effect of oil
spill on bird’s feathers. All the students participated enthusiastically and shared their views on
pollution.
FIT INDIA WEEK 2nd December to 8th December 2020 (Except 6th December 2020)
Fit India Movement is a nation-wide campaign that aims at encouraging people to include physical
activities and sports in their everyday lives and somehow it becomes even more relevant in today's
unprecedented pandemic times. In compliance with this movement, Delhi Public School R.N.
Extension also excitedly supported this initiative by organizing ‘Fit India School Week’ from the 2nd
to 8th of December’20.
As per the guidelines of CBSE, the school made a fitness plan to incorporate a few activities in the
daily routine of students. The students enthusiastically participated in various competitions & events.
A plethora of activities & competitions were conducted during the week to make students realize the
importance of fitness and positivity in their lives. They enthusiastically engaged in fitness sessions
like ‘Dance for Fitness’, ‘Aerobics’ and ‘Common Yoga Protocols’. Also various competitions were
organized based on the themes HUM FIT TOH INDIA HIT & EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL
WELLBEING ARE INTERCONNECTED, GET FIT DON’T QUIT, MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT
A DESTINATION BUT A JOURNEY to name a few. Students actively participated in an array of
competitions ranging from advertisement making, movie making, talk shows, online quizzes etc.
CHRISTMAS CRAFTSTRAVAGANZA 23rd December 2020, Wednesday
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle all the way. Yes, it’s
Christmas time.
Everyone waits for the arrival of Christmas very eagerly.
This festival is celebrated all over the world on 25
December every year because Lord Jesus Christ was
born on this auspicious day.
Although it was online, DPS RN Extension has
organised some activities to celebrate the festival with a great zeal this year also where children of
classes Nursery and Prep decorated the Santa Colouring Sheet with cotton, children of classes I and II
prepared beautiful snowmen and hanging bells.
It was a fun filled time for children and they enjoyed these activities.
NEW YEAR ACTIVITIES 30th December 2020, Wednesday
Delhi Public School R.N. Extension bid a befitting farewell to the
year 2020 by organizing online fun filled art & craft activities for
the students of grades Nursery to VIII. Due to this pandemic, the
celebrations also moved online. The students along with their
parents came together to make sure they keep the festive spirit
alive and kicking. The kids enthusiastically participated in an
array of especially curated activities like New Year Card
Colouring, Card making My Resolution Sheet to name a few.
Children happily and wholeheartedly participated in all the
activities. The boundless joy of bidding adieu to this not so
happening year was visible on the faces of the students.
KITE DECORATION AND FLYING ACTIVITY WITH FAMILY (12.01.2021)
Makar Sakranti and Lohri are
popular festivals of India. So, with
an aim to create a mood of festivity
and to celebrate these occasions, a
‘Kite Decoration and Flying Activity
with Family’ was organized on 12th
January, 2021 for the students of
grades III to V. All the students
participated in this activity with
great zeal and enthusiasm by making
and decorating beautiful and colourful kites. The students also enjoyed kite flying activity with their
parents.
Inter House Flower Arrangement Competition “Flowers are like friends, they bring colour to
your world.”
Delhi Public School R.N. EXTN conducted an Inter house
competition on MS Teams on 15th January‘21. The theme of the
competition was ‘Flower arrangement and presentation.’
Two participants from each house were selected for the
competition and they performed the flower arrangements online
on Ms Teams. All the participants engaged themselves in this
creative event and presented their entries aesthetically. They used
an array of items (fresh flowers, baskets, ribbons etc) to show their
craftsmanship. The judges witnessed their creations and later
scored them based on their performances.
All in all it was an engaging activity, motivating the students to be artistic and creative even during
the online mode.
INTER HOUSE ENGLISH SPEECH COMPETITION
To develop competitive spirit, creativity and divergent
thinking among students, Delhi Public School R.N.
Extension organized an online Inter House English
Speech Competition on January 22, 2021 for the students
of the middle school. The theme of the competition was
quite consequential; the students presented their opinion
on the 3 E’s for Our Girls – Education, Equality and
Empowerment. Three students from each house- Chenab,
Ganges, Jhelum, Ravi and Yamuna represented their
respective houses to voice out their sentiments and
feelings.

Keeping the same thought in
mind a character portrayal
competition was organised
on 25th January for the students of Grades I and II, wherein they depicted Bharat Ratna Awardees
who were their idols.
The excitement, energy and the confidence level of the little children was really admirable as they
portrayed famous characters like Sachin Tendulkar, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Shri Ramdhari Singh
Dinkar, Mother Teresa, Ananya Garikipati, Smt. Indira Gandhi , Shri Alat Bihari Vajpayee, Swar
kokila Lata Mangeshkar, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Shei Jawaharlal Nehru, Mary Kom and APJ Abdul
Kalam.
Children portrayed these characters with dialogues, props and costumes. It made children aware about
the contributions to our world by these esteemed personalities.

हकया। प्रहतयोहगता को िेकर सभी हवद्याथी अत्यिंत उत्साहहत थे। हतरिं गे के

नने्ह हाथोिं में िहराते छोटे-छोटे राष्ट्रध्वज उनके उत्साह की अप्रहतम झााँकी प्रसु्तत कर रहे थे। उनकी प्रते्यक भाव-

INTER HOUSE ART COMPETITION
To encourage, nurture and showcase every child’s natural
creative flair, Delhi Public School R.N. Extension
conducted an online Inter House Art Competition for
classes III-IX on
February 10,
2021 where the
students were
free to choose
their own theme
and topic.
The students filled magic with their colours in the paintings
and expressed the power of art which words cannot. All the
students participated enthusiastically and keeping their
passion for art at the forefront discovered their original
designs beautifully.

Making Activity
“Spring is here."As spring blossoms into summer and, outside
your window, new life continues to emerge.
It is the season of rebirth and rejuvenation of nature. It
awakens nature from deep slumber and nature becomes active
again and brings a new life to Earth.
To celebrate this new beginning, DPS RN Extension has
organised various activities for the children of classes
Nursery, Prep, I and II. These activities were great fun for
children where they made beautiful spring crowns and paper plate sunflowers. To make it more fun a
book reading activity was also organised in which children read their favourite story books under the
sun along with their families.
INTRA CLASS STORY TELLING COMPETITION
Stories always give wings to our imagination and take us to places beyond the boundaries of the
physical world. While competitions are the best way to boost the confidence of children. Keeping this
in mind, a storytelling competition was conducted for class II at DPS RN Extension. Children narrated
stories like ‘The five friends’, ‘Thirsty crow’, ‘The lion and the mouse’, etc. Some of them were
dressed up as characters and presented their story with the use of facial expressions and voice
modulation. To captivate the attention, the little narrators used props like puppets, posters and toys.
Each and every story was recited with a moral. The oratory and presentation skills of children were
outstanding.
BASANT PANCHAMI -May the divine grace of Goddess Saraswati be with you.
“Basant Panchami” is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season
and is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge,
music and art. This auspicious occasion was celebrated by our students with
great fervour on 16th February, 2021. The students dressed in yellow attire and
offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati. The teachers explained the significance
of this festival to the students and sang Saraswati Vandana with them
NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBRATION. 17.02.2021
National Science day is celebrated every year in India to
commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect. On this day, Sir
C V Raman had announced the discovery of Raman Effect for
which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930.The contribution of
science and technology has revolutionized our day to day activities
and made our life much easier. So to pay a tribute to the
contributions made by our scientists, DPS RN Extension celebrated
National Science Day where the students showcased their scientific
skills by
making working models. The topic of class IV
activity was “Making of a Volcano” where
children made working models of volcanoes and
explained the causes of its eruption. The topic of
class V activity was “Making a working model of
solar eclipse and lunar eclipse” in which students
explained solar and lunar eclipse with the help of
their working models. All the students
participated in National Science day activities
with great zeal and enthusiasm.
INTER DPS ART COMPETITION:
Art promotes creativity.The students of DPS R.N. Extension participated
in 26th All India Inter DPS Children's Art Competition (2020-2021)
organized by DPS , Ranipur, Haridwar. The competition was conducted
online in four groups - Group A (Classes I to III), Group B (Classes IV to
VI), Group C ( Classes VII to IX) and Group D ( Classes X to XII). The
students from each group designed and shared their beautiful paintings
and participated in this competition with great zeal and enthusiasm.
VIRTUAL LIVE PUPPET SHOW (NURSERY -II)
“Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world
today.”
Puppet Show is a powerful medium of storytelling which not only
leaves an impact on the students but also strengthens their
language skills. Keeping this in mind, an online Live Puppet Show
was organized for the little ones of classes Nursery-II at DPS RN
Extension on the famous Panchtantra story 'The Blue Jackal'. The
students had the pleasure of watching and being a part of this live
puppet show. The children were engrossed in listening to and
watching the story of a simple jackal who changed its colour from golden to blue accidently and
became the king.
The show included play, drama, music and dance using various puppet animals. This was not just
enjoyed by the students, but their parents also had a chance to enjoy
this show and be a part of it. The children were lost in the world of
puppets. They were able to accept the message without even
realizing that they are learning.
The squeals and the laughter of the students was proof of the joy and
fun they experienced during the puppet show. The puppets changed
the entire atmosphere by creating more possibilities for creativity,
collaboration, critical thinking and curiosity. The online Live Puppet
Show was undoubtedly a visual treat for all.
E-Assembly on Happiness
Happiness is the state of well being, joy and contentment.
During this pandemic, our students of grade V presented an
e-assembly on the theme Happiness on 10 th July, 2020 to
spread positivity and happiness around them. The students
shared their views on happiness and gave different ideas to
be happy. They also presented beautiful poem and
mesmerizing dance and song performances. All the
students participated in this assembly with great zeal.
E – Assembly on International Nelson Mandela Day
Nelson Mandela International Day is an annual
international day celebrated in honour of Nelson
Mandela on 18th July every year. This day is a global
call to action that celebrates the idea that each
individual has the power to transform the world and
the ability to make an impact. So, with an aim to
remember Nelson Mandela and his great ideas, the
students of class IX organized an e-Assembly on July
18, 2020. The students shared information about Nelson Mandela and the struggles faced by him in
his life. They also dedicated a beautiful song to him on this special day. The assembly was concluded
with Nelson Mandela’s motivational thoughts and the promise to work for the betterment of our
society.
E-Assembly - World Nature Conservation Day
World Nature Conservation Day is celebrated
on 28th July every year to spread awareness
about the importance of the ecosystem. This
day is celebrated to remind humankind about
the importance of nature and the need to
protect it. So, with an aim to highlight the
importance of natural resources, the students
of class VII organized an e- Assembly on July
28, 2020. The students shared the importance
of flora, fauna and other natural things through
poems and songs. They also presented a
wonderful act to show the need to protect mother earth by saving trees. The assembly was concluded
with the pledge to conserve the natural resources.
E- Assembly on Teachers’ Day Celebration
On the special occasion of Teacher's Day an E - Assembly was organised by our students to wish their
teachers a Happy Teacher's Day.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Delhi Public School R.N. Extension celebrated 74th
Independence Day proudly with immense respect
and patriotic fervour. The students of grades III-V
participated in various tri-colour activities
enthusiastically. Students of class III made
attractive tri-colour fans/badges. Class IV students
designed beautiful tri-colour wind chimes and class
V children prepared delicious tri-coloured
chaat/fruit truffles. The students of grades VI and
VIII presented an e-Assembly on Independence Day in which they shared information about various
freedom fighters and dedicated a patriotic song to them on this occasion.
E- ASSEMBLY GURUPARV

Gurupurab marks the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
To celebrate this propitious festival,
children of classes I and II presented a
beautiful online assembly on 26th
Nov’20 with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The presentation began with a small introductory speech, significance and
information about Guru Nanak Dev ji’s great life. The children also
presented a melodious, soulful song and a skit which threw light on the three
main teachings of the great Sikh guru in present times.

The Graduation Day ceremony is a happy and
momentous occasion for the little ones as they
gather to celebrate the culmination of their

Extension celebrated the event of ‘Graduation
Ceremony’ of class Prep A virtually on 20th March
2021. The occasion was graced by our great pillar
of strength, our Principal Mrs. Pallavi Upadhyay
Ma’am, our ever-supporting Headmistress Ms.
Priyanca Ghosh Ma’am and our forever vibrant
Cultural Coordinator Ms. Neerja Tyagi Ma’am.
The ceremony was also attended by the wonderful parents of the students of class Prep. Our dynamic
Principal welcomed everyone and inspired the young ones with her words of wisdom. She
congratulated these little graduates who were ready to move on to explore and accomplish yet another
milestone in their lives. She also appreciated the efforts put in by the parents along with the children
throughout these unprecedented times of pandemic. She further emphasized on the importance of the
values taught to the children and to carry it forward in their lives. She also gave her blessings to the
little ones to face the future challenges holding their head high and to excel in their career.
A beautiful collage of the memories of the young graduates for
the session 20-21 was presented before the parents in the form
of snippets followed by a scintillating musical performance by
the graduating students of class Prep on a beautiful song titled
“GoodBye Kindergarten”. It was a proud moment for all parents
and teachers seeing their precious jewels completing an
important phase of their educational journey and ready to move
ahead and enter the primary school with great zeal and
confidence. The young ones were also awarded graduation
certificates to mark their conclusion of one educational journey and the commencement of another.
DISTRICT LEVEL ARCHERY TRIALS

𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐢𝐦.
DPS R.N. Extension hosted the District Level Archery
trials on 6 February 2021, under the aegis of Ghaziabad
Archery Association. The programme witnessed a
participation of 30 budding archers from Ghaziabad and
Hapur district. 17 participants qualified for the State Level.
There were three categories of participants- Senior, Junior
and Sub-Junior. The archers had to show their expertise in
various rounds to qualify for the next level. The rounds
were called Compound Round, Recurve Round and Indian Round. It was heartening to note, that this
sport though an ancient one and ingrained in our glorious past and epics has gained so much
popularity.
