There is a real buzz around the quality of award winning local food on offer. MALTON FOOD LOVERS FESTIVAL — May Fill up on glorious Yorkshire Street Food and discover why Malton is considered ‘Yorkshire’s Food Town’ . With mountains of fresh produce at the producers’ stalls try the ever popular Beer, Wine and Cider Festival or take a turn around our Taste Trail. Regular indoor food markets are also held throughout the year WHITBY & DISTRICT LIONS BEER FESTIVAL — July The festival has over 30 carefully selected, unique, high quality beers and ciders which have been brewed either locally or regionally. SCARBOROUGH SEAFEST - July Celebrating the town’s rich maritime heritage the festival runs a mini-food festival alongside other events. This provides a fantastic opportunity to sample and buy from a variety of local suppliers, while the seafood kitchen showcases a series of cookery demonstrations by top local and national chefs. Seafest’s beer and live music marquee also brings together over 40 varieties of Real Ale many of which are sourced and brewed regionally. BRIDLINGTON OLD TOWN SUMMER FESTIVAL – July This annual community festival is held in the historic setting of Bridlington’s Old Town. A vast craft and food show, showcases some of the finest examples of local produce. EGTON BRIDGE GOOSEBERRY SHOW — August Egton Bridge, eight miles from Whitby in the North York Moors National Park, provides the perfect setting for the oldest surviving gooseberry show in the country. Established in 1800, the show is held annually on the first Tuesday in August and is organised by the Egton Bridge Old Gooseberry Society. BURNISTON AGRICULTURAL SHOW — August Burniston Show was first held in 1888, and was funded by local farmers. Over the numerous years it has been running, the Burniston Show has developed into its current August Bank Holiday Event, which includes exhibits of rabbits and cavies, poultry and waterfowl, traditional crafts, baking, local honey, wine making, classic and vintage machinery, and horticultural and agricultural classes. FILEY FOOD FESTIVAL — October The festival takes place on Filey’s Edwardian Crescent which overlooks 7 miles of uninterrupted sandy beach. Stalls from regional food and drink producers as well as specialist food and drink retailers take pride of place in Filey’s Crescent Gardens. There are a variety of cookery demonstrations running throughout the weekend, as well as street food demonstrations taking place at various stalls.. BY ROADThe A1 connects to the coastal area via the A64 at York and the A170 at Thirsk. The newly upgraded A165 runs from Hull to Scarborough. Whitby can be accessed from Scarborough via the A171 and a motorway connection can be made just north of Middlesbrough.

BY RAILNorthern Rail, Virgin, East Coast, Grand Central and First Transpennine Express run services from all parts of the country to York and Leeds where connections can be made to stations within the area including Scarborough, Seamer, Malton, Filey and Thirsk. The Esk Valley route to Whitby operates from Middlesbrough, whilst the Yorkshire Wolds Coast Line runs from Hull to Filey and Scarborough as well as several other local stations in the area.

BY AIRThe nearest airports are Leeds Bradford, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Durham Tees Valley, Humberside and Newcastle. Train and bus connections can be made from these airports to the area. Slightly further away is Manchester Airport which is served by direct rail connections into Scarborough, Malton, Thirsk and York.
