Deve lopment MethodologyWe follow Microsoft’s solution framework methodology in our development projects.The MSF team model is as follows:

Product Management- Responsible for managing client communications andexpectations. During the design phase, product management gathers requirementsand ensures that business needs are met. Product management also works onproject communication plans such as briefings to the customers, marketing tousers, demonstrations, and product launches.

Program Management- Responsible for the development process and for delivering the solution within the project constraints.

Development- Responsible for developing the technology solution according tothe specifications provided by the program management role.

Testing- Responsible for identifying and addressing all product quality issues and approving the solution for release. This role evaluates and validates design functionality and consistency with project vision and scope.

Release Management- Responsible for smooth deployment and operations ofthe solution. Release management validates the infrastructure implications of thesolution to ensure that it can be deployed and supported.

Planning TransitionThe transition phase commences with the establishment of a ProgramManagement Office (PMO) that helps plan and execute transition effectively. The PMO consists of representatives from Cipher BPO andthe client, and is tasked with ensuring the efficient migration of theidentified processes.

Transition ExecutionWe typically deploy domain, process and technology teams to addresseach of the transition tracks. These consist of:

• Knowledge transfer, which includes the construction of operating procedures, preparation of training documents, andtraining executives to execute the process offshore

• Technology transfer that identifies the optimal network architecture, procurement of bandwidth and systems, andinstallation, testing and deployment of technical infrastructure

• Operating preparedness which includes recruitment, induction and site preparation

Parallel RunThe objective of this phase is to test the successful migration ofprocesses to the offshore location, while ensuring that interdependentprocesses are not adversely affected. This takes place in the following stages:

• Preparation of the ramp-up schedule • Logistics management (shift timings, transportation,

food, etc.) • Execution of offshore ramp-up and onsite ramp-down while

maintaining continuity of operations and service levels

Parallel run helps achieve robust and tested operations, operationalwith all resources and infrastructure to execute steady state operations.

Steady State'Steady state operations’ is the on-going delivery of services. It alsoencompasses continuous process improvements in collaboration withthe client, where the outsourced processes are executed as per normslaid down in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Our development center is located in New Delhi, India has multiple links to the Internet and dedicated high speed links to the clients.

Cipher uses a secured extranet for the offshore and onsite teams. This extranet is used for uploading projects, report, latest code, prototype, etc. Multiple projects run concurrently in the development centers. Each project has a dedicated seating space,hardware and software available to the development team and access to the project area is controlled to adhere to the confidentiality requirements of the clients. In addition, a weekly project reviews meeting between the client’s project manger and Cipher project manger is held. The communication is also facilitated via regular conference call between the onsite and offshore teams.
