We are learning to: use given areas to create a map of a park.

I know I have been successful when I can:● Use my knowledge of parks to position items on a map● Use given areas to create a map● Use a key to label parts of a park on the map

Strand - Area:There is a park opening next door to where you are staying foryour family holiday. You are going to create a map of the park using your knowledgeof length and area and the list of objects below. We have givenyou the size of each item but you can place the items whereveryou would like in the design of your park. It is completely up toyou where the location of each item is!

Scale: 1cm = 1m (on your grid paper)Example: 3m2 would equal 3 boxes on your grid. The items you add can be regular or irregular shapes but theymust equal the given area. Don’t forget to add a key and label theparts of the park!

The following things need to be included in your park:● 5 bench seats - 3m2 each (One has been included in

the WAGOLL)● Playing field - 60m2● Toilet Block - 12m2● Cafe/Canteen - 8m2● 2 soccer goals - 3m2 each● Carpark - 25m2● Kids playground - 12m2● If you have space, you can add other items to your

playground.Reflection:

- Why are floor plans often to scale and not the actualsize?

- What are some jobs that would often use floor plans?- Why are floor plans important?

Optional Game: Give me 10 (See Resources pack)
