Other in-kind support provided by Home Care Transions, Inc., Kellogg Community College, WW Thayne (Senior Times), Bronson at Home, and the Alzheimers Associaon—Great Lakes Chapter. Demena Capable Care is a training and cerficaon course for professional and family caregivers to increase the understanding of demena and improve communica- on and care for persons with demena. The training introduces a best-abilies, person-centered approach to caring for persons with demena. Parcipants will learn about the types and stages of demena, communicaon tools and techniques, the role of memory and funcon in terms of a persons best ability to funcon, behavior management strategies, and supporng families and caregivers. Parcipants who complete the course and pass the cerficaon exam will receive a Demena Capable Care Specialist cerficaon, sponsored by Crisis Prevenon Instute (CPI).
