Greetings and thank you for attending Denver’s first Natural Hair Care Expo! This year’s expo looks and feels like more of a fair or festival, with interactive components (workshops, discussion panels, demonstrations) for you to engage in and learn from.

When I embarked on the endeavor in October of 2013 to bring a Natural Hair Care event to Denver, I knew that I was beginning a journey that was similar to

giving birth, minus the physical pain part, of course. I started out with a mountainous vision - to become the hub for all things natural hair in the Rocky Mountain region with salons and stylist from across the Denver Metro area and more models & vendors than I can count... From conception (planning) to execution (birth), this process has definitely been 8-9 months of nurturing, late nights, early mornings, blood, sweat, tears and a lot of learning of myself, realizing that simply put: before you walk, you must learn to crawl.

This production is a culmination of the time, energy, hard work and preparation that went into making this event happen. Nonetheless, I’m grateful for taking the leap of faith against doubts of whether I’m qualified enough to do such a thing... I’m not a stylist, a blogger - I’ll even admit to not keeping my hair moisturized on the daily basis! I took on this commitment because I, with many others, longed for a resourceful event for the natural hair community of Denver to come together to celebrate and learn together while supporting those who aren’t natural or are contemplating transitioning, encouraging all to come as they are and have fun. Regardless of the outcome, I am grateful for this experience, laying the foundation for an annual event that can only get bigger and better as every year goes by.

Thank you to Malaika Cooper, the Natural Hair Care Expo’s founder for believing in me enough to share her vision with Denver; to those who have taken the time out to share this event with their friends, family and net-works, to those who have donatedtime, money, advice, direction and other forms of support for this event, as well as tothose who believed in this event enough to help to see it come to fruition!

This is only the beginning - let’s birth this baby, y’all!!!

Thank you so much for being a part of the 1st annual Denver Natural Hair Care Expo 2014, the 6th stop in our Natural Hair Care Evolu-tion Tour!

We are so glad to bring our version of Natural Hair Care to your community and we are glad that the Denver community has partnered with us to make this show a success. I started out in Balti-more and have crossed the country several times so that we could make an effort to educate all people on natural hair care, holistic health, and wearable art.
