NOTICE

A written test will be conducted on 12th July, 2018 to select suitable candidates foradmission into M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. programmes in Animal Biotechnology under AssamAgricultural University, Kbanapara, Guwahati. Interested candidates fulfilling the eligibilitycriteria as mentioned below may submit their applications in the prescribed format to the Head,Department of Animal Biotechnology, College of Veterinary Science, Kbanapara, Guwahati-781022 on or before 4.30 P.M. of 6th July, 2018. Application forms and other details may bedownloaded from www.vetbifg.ac.in or obtained from the office of the Head, Dept. of AnimalBiotechnology.

Candidates who have already applied online for admission into the postgraduateprogramme of the University through the AAU website www.aau.ac.in will only be allowed toappear in the written test.

Eligibility criteria:1. For DBT-supported M.V.Sc. programme in Animal Biotechnology (5 seats):

Candidates with B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree from a recognized university, whoare permanent residents of any of the north-eastern states of India or those who havestudied for at least 3 years post-HSLC in the north-east, securing minimum CGPA 2.60 in4.00 scale or 6.60 in 10.00 scale or 60% in the traditional system. In case of SC/STcandidates, the corresponding minimum requirements will be 2.20 in 4.00 scale, 5.60 in10.00 scale and 50%.

2. For Ph.D. programme in Animal Biotechnology (2 seats):

Candidates with M.V.Sc. degree in Animal Biotechnology/Veterinary Microbiology/Veterinary Biochemistry/Animal Genetics and Breeding/Veterinary Physiology/ AnimalReproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics/Veterinary Pathology/VeterinatyParasitology/Animal Nutrition from a recognized university with minimum CGPA 3.00 in4.00 scale or7.00 in 10.00 scale or 58% marks in traditional system.

4. The Admission Test will be based on 100 multiple choice questions each carrying equalmarks. The subject-wise distribution of marks will be as follows:

(i) Veterinary Microbiology: 25 marks(ii) Veterinary Biochemistry: 25 marks(iii) Animal Genetics & Breeding: 20 marks(iv) Veterinary Physiology: 15 marks(v) Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics: 15 marks

5. The syllabus for the"admission test will be the corresponding UG syllabus of the subjectsas per Veterinary Council of India.

6. To be eligible for appearing in the test, a candidate has to be a permanent resident of anyof the following states of north-east India: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur,Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, or must have studied at least forthree years post HSLC in any of these states. '

7. The candidates should refer to the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the notification forthe admission test before filling up the application form.

8. There is no qualifying mark for the test and 5 (five) top scorers will be selected foradmission into the course on the basis of merit.

9. No separate admit card will be issued to the candidates and the application number to bementioned in the Acknowledgement Card will be considered as the registration number ofthe candidates for the test.

10. Candidates sub-i..rting application by post should attach a self-addressed stampedenvelope so as to receive the Acknowledgement Card.
