We have been busy

2015: a big push into Asia:• Mounted four high level business missions to eight markets (Japan, China,

Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong, India)• Hosted an international trilateral economic cooperation dialogue between

Australia, Indonesia and Timor-Leste • Actively engaging with China – visiting several provinces; finalising a

cooperation framework with China Development Bank; advancing joint business projects

• Pursuing investment leads in Singapore and Malaysia • Leading two Team NT missions to Timor Leste to strengthen ties

We have been busy

2015: Asia coming to us:• Boosted numbers of Asian corporates visiting the Territory to talk about

doing business here – 31 delegations from 12 countries with strong interest from China

• Recent Australia-Taiwan Joint Business Council Conference saw over 60 Taiwanese corporate leaders visit Darwin

• NT Resources Week in August attracted delegates from China, Japan, South Korea, and Malaysia

• A political mission from Eastern Indonesia visited to discuss closer economic ties


Economy grew by 3.9% in 2014

Australia’s strongest

Business confidence is at +43%


Engineering construction activity increased by 41%

Private housing construction increased by 20% in the year to September

Employment growth 3.2%
