Partnering with more than 25 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) districts, we have delivered innovative and sustainable solutions to help ensure the performance of our nation’s infrastructure. We strive to deliver solutions that reduce risk, increase reliability and provide for the long-term sustainability of dams, levees, and water resources systems.

Hydraulic and Geotechnical ServicesOur firm brings hydraulic and geotechnical expertise to contracts, from project planning and design through construction phase services and/or technical review.

Soil, rock, and groundwater considerations are critical to large infrastructure projects. Accordingly, Gannett Fleming provides foundation design and rehabilitation, and services for other groundwater resource, structural, and underground construction demands.

We bring specialized experience and state of the art tools to address issues with seepage, expansive soils, seismic activity, landslides, sinkholes, and mine subsidence.

Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, and Fire SuppressionGannett Fleming also provides testing, analysis, evaluation and design for potable water, wastewater, stormwater and fire suppression systems. This work is exemplified by numerous task orders under USACE contracts and past work for the Navy and Marine Corps, which included the privatization of water and wastewater utility systems for 28 naval bases.

We have performed flood risk mapping for a FEMA Region III area covering 4,000 stream miles, including the survey and assessment of structural and natural resources, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, modeling, digital mapping in a GIS environment, and public involvement.

Gannett Fleming has provided services for FEMA’s RiskMAP Program, including development of guidelines for risk-based hydrologic safety of dams, management of LiDAR data acquisition, and validation to support FEMA’s needs management strategy.

IntelliGrout®

Recognized as a leader in foundation grouting, the team of Gannett Fleming and Advanced Construction Techniques Ltd. introduced and have continually advanced the science of grouting with IntelliGrout.

IntelliGrout is a comprehensive system for data collection, display, analysis, and computer control of grouting operations. The system enlists both hardware and software components to allow project participants to collect, visualize and understand vast amounts of complex data in real time.

Levees and Flood Damage Reduction Gannett Fleming recognizes the critical nature that levees play to protect our nation’s population and infrastructure. Our firm has been involved with levee projects throughout the U.S. We have prepared designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for new projects and performed inspections and evaluations of existing flood damage reduction. We have also provided construction oversight services to ensure quality construction in accordance with design documents.

Levee engineering is one of Gannett Fleming’s areas of expertise. We evaluate levee systems for compliance with the requirements of the National Flood Insurance Program and other governing agencies.

Gannett Fleming leads in the development of entry control facility standards.

IRRIS technology has supported more than 5,000 DoD users.

TechnologyWe provide solutions and applications that empower our nation’s defense agencies to make informed decisions, enhance security, and effectively manage military assets.

SecurityGannett Fleming and its GeoDecisions division help DoD agencies to analyze threats and vulnerabilities, conduct crisis and emergency response planning, develop mitigation strategies, and security plans. We also provide design of physical protection systems.

Our security-related experience ranges from port and border security, emergency management, and logistics systems to water, power, and transportation infrastructure.

We actively support our clients in addressing access control point and entry control facility security, and have assisted in developing many standards in place today. We have conducted over 140 entry control facility (ECF) assessments since 9/11. We have helped DoD agencies to achieve needed security and design aesthetics while enhancing motorist and guard safety, and mitigating traffic and safety impacts.

Moreover, our broad capabilities allow integrated support. For example, as subconsultant on a USACE Omaha District contract, we are providing intelligent transportation, facilities, transportation, construction management engineering, and consulting services for the Army Protective Design Center in Omaha, Neb.

Asset ManagementOur firm provides effective asset management platforms that allow defense agencies to track vehicles, equipment, and other assets.

Gannett Fleming has conducted sign inventory studies for numerous military installations to assist in development of a sign management system to meet federally mandated sign retroreflectivity requirements.

In response, our firm developed a unique, timesaving GIS-based system that utilizes a global positioning system during field inventory to allow all sign attributes to be entered and evaluated. This state-of-the-art system is efficient, simple to use, cost-effective and compatible with other agency GIS tools.

An innovative mapping and web-based portal, developed in partnership between GeoDecisions and the U.S. military, supports an array of DoD clients with analysis of logistics, location and proximity; data sharing; collaboration; economy; and security.

IRRIS®

GeoDecisions, the firm’s division specializing in geospatial solutions, developed IRRIS, a tool for coordinating transportation security and logistics worldwide. The system integrates and displays infrastructure data, live-vehicle tracking, near-real-time weather, and active route conditions in a map format through a single, secure interface.

GeoDecisions’ technology is or recently has been used by FEMA to track humanitarian assistance and disaster relief shipments; by the Navy and the Marine Corps for logistics management; and by the U.S. Transportation Command to manage security of arms, ammunitions, and explosives shipments; defense classified courier shipments; commercial and military shipping; and satellite-tagged shipments in the Middle East. GeoDecisions also is providing support under contract for the new TRANSCOM Geospatial Information System (TGIS).
