General objective:
➢ To acquaint first year students with the speech-sounds production
mechanisms of the English language.
Specific objectives:
❖ Students will get to know the vocal apparatus / vocal track
❖ Students will describe speech sounds of English (place and manner of articulation)
❖ Student will get familiar with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
❖ Students will improve their knowledge of English pronunciation
