SUBJECT: Creation of Compostela Valley Sub-District Engineering Office fromthe Existing Lone DistrictEngineering Office in CompostelaValley and Possible Renaming ofCompostela Valley DEO and SubDEO in accordance to theimplementation of R.A. No. 11297

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 124, Series of 1987 and having met the criteria for DEOCreation per Department Order 110, Series of 2016, a DPWH Sub-District Engineering Office theProvince of Compostela Valley is hereby created and to be known as Compostela Valley Sub-District Engineering Office.

As a result of this creation, the Compostela Valley DEO and the newly created CompostelaValley Sub-DEO shall be classified and shall comprised of the following cities and municipalitiesas shown below:

The Compostela Valley Sub-DEO shall be constituted and manned by appropriate personnelfrom the Regional Office and other District Engineering offices within the Region or otherDepartment personnel, as may be identified by the Secretary of this Department. Theheadquarters of the existing Compostela Valley DEO (Mother DEO) shall be located in theMunicipality of Compostela, while the newly created Sub-DEO's office shall be situated in themunicipality of Nabunturan.

Moreover, with the enactment of Republic Act No. 11297 "An Act Renaming theProvince of Compostela Valley as the Province of Davao De Oro", which was approvedon April 17, 2019, the Department shall adopt and follow the implementation of the said law.The Department shall change the name of the Compostela Valley DEO and Sub-DEO into DavaoDe Oro DEO and Davao de Oro Sub-DEO since the result of the plebiscite is in favor of the saidratification.
