Central Intermediate Repair Facility (CIRF)

• CIRF is a logistics concept used to leverage existing maintenance capabilities

• Intended to reduce logistics footprints, personnel levels and strategic airlift requirements

• Supporting Expeditionary Aerospace Forces with engines, pods, avionics and wheels/tires

“We will streamline what we take with us reducing our forward support footprint by 50 percent. We’ll rely increasingly on distributed (or reach back) operations to efficiently sustain our forces, providing time-definite delivery of needed capabilities.”
