The HCM Problem
Problem:• No single HCM system ever satisfies all requirements
Traditional Approach:• Select a principal system of record and then interface to proprietary built specialty products to fill gaps
Issue:• Integration complexity
• High costs – including multiple hosting fees
• Multi-skilled training, implementation and support teams
• Lack of flexibility to respond to change

Component Assembly Model (CAM)
CAM is a common data model for HCM
CAM plays a central role in the CET ecosystem– GCX Select, GCX Declare and HCM Mashup Builder are all based
on the CET Component Assembly Model (CAM)
– CAM has evolved for the Human Resource Component Application Standard (HR-CSAS) first published in 2004 for the On-Premise environment and now designed for the On-DemandForce.com platform
– CAM is used by the Global Component Exchange (GCX), the Global Component Factory (GCF) and the Commercial Component Registry (CCR)
