Attached herewith are threg photographs which show the correct grill and its location.The grill on the bonnbt for A/c air intake is half closed and half op-en. The closed halfof the grill is positioned above the A/C duct. This A/c duct is beneath the closedbonnet. The open half of the grill occurs above water drainage tray.
You are kindly requested to irispect the vehicles from your region, mentioned in thelist. lf the vehicle/s are delivered to the customer' pleasJ insp-ect the vehicleimmediately. lf the grill is found wrong, please contact us with the details of the VlN,' colour of the car, etc. we will then arrange for the supply of the correct grill. Upon

Dear All,
In isolated cases, it has been observed that the leaves & dust particles setfle in thedrainpipe, thus clogging the free water passage of the airlwater collector box. In the rainyseason, this results into the seepage of rain water in the passenger compartment causingextensive damage especially to the blower motor and other electronic components. aoartfrom the inconveniences to our esteemed Customers.
For the above mentioned complaint, you may recollect that we had sent Servicelnformation (s.1. no. 83/002 dated 22"d June'2001) regarding regular cleaning of the drainvalve.
we were also investigating the matter in co-ordination with DCAG, for furtheramprovement in attending to this complaint. In view of this, an emergency drain valve hasbeen developed for right hand d rive vehicles, which is to be retrofitted on the airlwatercollector box. (Please note that forw 220 from VlN. approx. 27gooo & for w215 fromVIN approx. 025600 all RHD vehicles have been equipped with this emergency drain).
Enclosed please find a special working instruction for retrofitting the emergency drainvalve. Please make sure that you clean the drain valve as mentioned iri the aboveservice Information along with this customer Satisfaction campaign. Also, please notethat work is to be conducted during the vehicle's next visit to the workshop and it is notnecessary to call for this purpose alone.

Press fender liner to the side using an assembly wedge' Slacken nuts on the va$e

Procedure
l. Check to see if the correct cover has been installed (see FIGIJRE I for inconect covgr).
2 Operr engine hood as described in AR88.40-P-1000M (vertical position).
3. Check to see ifthe correct cover has been installed in the engine hood (closed cover mustbe on top of the brake fluid reservoir) (see FIGURE 1). If the open side ofthe cover ispresent on top ofthe brake fluid reservoir, the cover must be exchanged.
4. Remove/install the cover as described under item 5 in AR 88.40-P-3000M.

1. Open engine hood as described in AR88.40-P-'1000M.
2. Visually inspect to see if a covei is installed on top of the brake fluid reservoir. lf thisis not installed (see Figure 1), continue with step 3. lf the cover is installed (Figure2), no work needs to be Performed.

3. Remove rubber seal (Figure 3) from the partition wall and mount (Figure 5) bracket(Figure 4). Reattach rubber seal.

4. Guide the cover (Figure 6) into the bracket. Mark the position of the right interlocking\_ hole. cut out the interlocking hole (Figure 7). For this, it is recommended that you
use a 7 mm drill bit to bore 2 holes right next to each other, then file them to anelongated hole.

Remove water drain grommets in both front wheelhousesModel 211Gode:0301P62A01
Work procedure'1. Turn steering wheel completely to the lefl, see picture 1.
2. Loosen bolts and expansion rivets in left fender liner, see picture 2.
3. Using a mounting wedge, press fender liner to side. Loosen nuts on walerdrain grommets and remove the grommets, see pictures 3 and 4.
Note: The water drain grommets are not to be replaced.
4. Ensure that water drain pas-sage goes through.
5. Reinstall left fender liner.
6. Turn steering wheel comptetely to right.
7. Remove water drain grommets on right side following same procedure (steps2 to 5).

3. Install the net and glue the net as shown below with suitable adhesive. Additional glue
spots may be applied if required.
4. Refix the Air Duct Grill. Please note that the Grill to be refitted only after the glue hasdried completelY.

Testing procedure
1. Turn steering wheel all the way to the left.2. Loosen screws and expansion rivets on the left fender liner, see Fig. 2.3. Press fender liner to the side with wedge tool.4. Check water drain passage. lf a water drain grommet is installed, then remove it according
to the following procedure. (This procedure is valid for both sides of the vehicle)

Reassemble left fender liner.

tolerances, nas neen lrovision-al ly instal led for the air iondit ioning in the vehicles mentioned in the
attached l ist. The f i l l ing valve with o+ing must be replaced to avoid any.leaks at the air condit ioning'
