You will use images from your Library and design a grid to organize those images into a composition. You will define your own restrictions: —Which images best represent your word? —What should your grid be able to do? —How do your images create formal relationships? —How do your images as a group create a composition? How do images connect? What formal elements are you using to define this connection. How are you merging, blending, dissolving images together? Using your word as the foundation, what kind of visual story or concept are you trying to communicate? How are you communicating aspects of your (Mechanical, Fluid) narrative? You will design a poster which expresses either the word Mechanical or theword Fluid. You will use images from your Library and design a grid to organize those images into a composition.

You will define your own restrictions:—Which images best represent your word?—What should your grid be able to do?—How do your images create formal relationships?—How do your images as a group create a composition?

How do images connect? What formal elements are you using to define thisconnection. How are you merging, blending, dissolving images together? Using yourword as the foundation, what kind of visual story or concept are you trying tocommunicate? How are you communicating aspects of your (Mechanical, Fluid)narrative? What kind of formal movement can emphasize your word?

Choose one word as the direction or for your poster (not both):—Mechanical —Fluid

—Organize forms in a self-defined grid—Must use at least 30 images from anywhere in your Image Library—Black and white only—Clear, non pixelated, high quality final imagery.—18x18in—150 resolution—Flatten final image—jpeg

Use any combination of analog and digital, photoshop, illustrator, scanner etc.Remember to use Design vocabulary to describe your results.Must have smooth, clear, and carefully considered connections between images. The following are examples and are not to be copied.
