On the C1861 her age is given as 1844 and called Em, with five children as boarders, they could have been the start of her teaching privately. She was staying with her Aunt Sarah Nuttman.

On the C1871 she is living with her Aunt Sarah Nuttman a widow born in 1805. The Census gives age for Emily as 25 which would give birth as 1846.

In 1874 on the history of Wennington she was listed as School mistress. On the Census 1891 her age is given as 45, therefore birth of 1846 ? Perhaps this is in the wrong line but time may tell ? The C1911 makes everything look OK where she is living with her brother William John. In the file is an article about her time as a teacher in Wennington, she was appointed as the school mistress in 1862 (therefore born 1842 would be more realistic) at a salary of £16 per year. She retired from the school in 1887, then it looks from the C1891 she took up her new post as the Matron of the orphanage.

On the Census 1911 her infirmity is shown as feeble minded.iii. Charlotte Anne Turnpenny was born on 23 May 1847 in Lambeth (2Q1847-1V234). She was
