DESIGN APTITUDE TEST & Exam Pattern The exam will have questions from the following topics: VISUALIZATION AND SPATIAL ABILITY Spatial visualization ability or visual-spatial ability is the ability to men- tally manipulate 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional figures. It is to assess your ability to think spatially and mentally manipulate images, and per- ceive patterns between them. It is typically measured with simple cogni- tive tests and is predictive of user performance with some kinds of user interfaces. ECOLOGICAL AND PUBLIC AWARENESS General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc., and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure and envi- ronment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with design, histo- ry of the designed artefact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture and literature. ANALYTICAL AND LOGICAL REASONING The logical reasoning, also known as critical thinking or analytic reason- ing, involves one's ability to isolate and identify the various components of any given argument. It is designed to assess a candidate's ability at skills such as how to interpret patterns, number sequences or the rela- tionships between shapes. Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage, which of a number of statements is the most accurate response to a posed question. Data Interpretation, brain- teasers, and patterns. VERBAL COMMUNICATION AND CREATIVITY Ability to understand and use Standard English. Reading comprehen- sion, knowledge of English grammar such as sentence structure and usage, the use of tenses, verb patterns, articles, and active and passive constructions, etc. & vocabulary skills.
