    Section 2:The Compressor section

    The compressor section is compact andeasily accessible. A horizontal oil separationvessel is at the lowest point, with a directlyflanged airend and multi-function intake

    regulator mounted on top. A separatorhousing with final separator cartridge andminimum pressure valve complete thissection. The whole set is mounted on avibration damped sub-frame.

    Your benefits:Direct flanging of the airend and oilseparator block eliminate the need forinterconnecting hoses.

    Section 3:Cooling sectionAn autonomous fan/cooler assembly withorced air circulation sited at the top ofhe system in the cooling air exhaust is

    coupled with a generously dimensionedafter-cooler assembly.

    Your benefits:This is the only area where high cooling airemperatures occur. The chimney effect

    designed into the system means that hotair automatically rises, leaving no hot spotsnside the package during standstill.The hot air can either be released directlynto the atmosphere or ducted away. Withhe ducting system, hot cooling air can be

    exhausted to the outside in the summer orused for space heating in the winter.Thanks to a cleverly designed maintenancecover, the cooler can be easily cleanedwithout the need for dismantling.

    Optimised cooling air circulationCooling air is drawn into the side of thecompressor and is exhausted upwards,utilising the laws of physics (hot air rises).

    The cooling process actually causes aslight vacuum in the package, which sucks

    the panels tightly against the frame.

    Your benefits:The panels are sealed against the frame inoperation, which means that the optimumcooling air flow is guaranteed throughoutthe life of the compressor, ensuring aconsistently low compressed air dischargetemperature.Discharge duct work can easily be fittedto take away the hot cooling air. In winterthis can be utilised for room heating andin summer this can be ducted into the

    atmosphere. Additionally, a super-silencinghood can be utilised to provide very lowsound pressure levels.

    Innovative oil-separationThe cornerstone of the BOGE safety oilseparation system is the horizontallymounted oil separation vessel with thedirect flange mounted airend dischargelinked to the external spin-on final separatorcartridge.

    External oil separation cartridgeThe final oil separation cartridge ismounted on an external oil separator block.The spin-on cartridges can be quicklychanged without the need for special tools.The distance between the oil level in the

    horizontal separator vessel and the spin-oncartridge, in combination with the intensiveoil pre-separation, guarantees minimumcontamination of the spin-on cartridgeesulting in a long service life.

    All BOGE belt-driven screw compressorsretain constant belt tension in everyoperating phase, thanks to the patentedGM drive system, which automatically

    compensates for the different forces ofmotor weight, start-up torque and runningtorque.

    Maintenance free multifunction intakeregulator

    An ingenious BOGE development whichnot only hermetically seals as an intakeregulator but also allows a valve-less oilcircuit with no need for an oil stop valvenor a check valve. The BOGE multifunctionregulator design eliminates numeroushoses and connections found in conven-tional compressors.

    Your benefits:Off load the BOGE system unloads toatmospheric pressure which means thatthere are energy cost savings in start up.

    The multifunction regulator is intrinsicallysafe in operation which, means that in theevent of a breakdown it fails safe. Hermeticsealing ensures that there can be no oilvapour escape in blow down, which meansthat the compressor stays clean for years.

    Water coolingBOGE offers a water-cooled option above22 kW. In some ambient conditions watercooling could be the ideal option fordissipating heat and maintaining thecompressor efficiency.

    Proportional Control PROP-control(option)Proportional regulation controls the free airdelivery between 50 percent and 100percent at an absorbed power of between78 and 100 percent. A continuouslyworking throttle valve in the intake adjuststhe amount of intake air according to theactual demand.

    Practical application casePROP-control prevents the compressorfrom cycling (switching on and off) wherethere is a fluctuating air demand. It workseconomically in the f.a.d. range between50 and 100 percent.

    Frequency control F-control (option)

    Frequency control regulates the f.a.d.between 25 and 100 percent with a powerconsumption between 28 and 103 percent.Output control is adjusted according to thecompressor speed.

    Practical application case

    F-control economically controls fluctuatingair demand in the case of reduced storagecapacity or a tight pressure band. It canbe used in a stand alone application or asthe peak load compressor in a multiplecompressor station.
