In Old Aramaic, the word Horm means “sacred enclosure with the right to asylum”. This enclosure, metaphorically speaking, has been constructed and looked after in Northeast Italy, a few kilometres from the city of Pordenone. It receives great masters of contemporary architecture, artists of international fame and versatile designers. But a “sacred precinct” is also the precious space of a house furnished with Horm.it furniture in which wood is the protagonist with its versatility, its colours and its apparent imperfection. Only the skilled hands of Master craftsmen know how to work with a material so ancient and noble, that the passing of time shapes because it is alive, like a silent witness and guardian of our privacy. “Released in 2014” is the perpetuation of this philosophy, that every year regenerates itself with new Horm.it products, strictly and proudly made in Italy.

In aramaico antico la parola “horm” significa “recinto sacro con diritto di asilo”. Questo recinto, metaforicamente costruito e accudito nel Nord-Est d’Italia, a pochi chilometri dalla città di Pordenone, accoglie grandi maestri dell’architettura contemporanea, artisti di fama internazionale, poliedrici designers, maestri ebanisti e artigiani del legno. Ma è “recinto sacro” anche lo spazio prezioso della casa arredato con i mobili Horm.it, nei quali il legno è protagonista con la sua eccletticità, le sue cromie e la sua apparente imperfezione. Solo le sapienti mani di maestri artigiani sanno lavorare un materiale cosi antico e nobile, che il trascorrere del tempo modella perché vivo, come un silenzioso testimone e custode della nostra intimità. “Released in 2014” rappresenta il perpetuarsi di questa filosofia, che ogni anno si reincarna e rigenera in nuovi prodotti Horm.it, rigorosamente e orgogliosamente Made in Italy.

Cette enceinte, construite de façon métaphorique et soignée dans le Nord-Est de l’Italie, à quelques kilomètres de la ville de Pordenone, accueille les grands maîtres de l’architecture contemporaine, des artistes de renommée internationale et des designers polyvalents. Mais « enceinte sacrée » est aussi l’espace précieux de la maison, meublé avec les meubles Horm.it, dans lesquels le bois qui est le protagoniste avec sa polyvalence, ses couleurs et son imperfection apparente. Seules les mains habiles des maîtres artisans savent comment travailler un matériau si noble et ancien que le passage du temps modèle car il est vivant, comme un témoin silencieux et gardien de notre vie privée. « Released in 2014 » est la perpétuation de cette philosophie, que chaque année se régénère de nouveaux produits Horm.it rigoureusement et fièrement fabriqués en Italie.

Im alten Aramäischen bedeutet Horm einen „Heiligen Bereich mit Asylrecht“. Metaphorisch ist dieser Bereich im Nordosten Italiens angesiedelt und wird dort gehegt, wenige Kilometer von der Stadt Pordenone entfernt. Er beherbergt große Meister der zeitgenössischen Architektur, international gerühmte Künstler und vielseitige Designer. Aber auch der wertvolle Raum des Hauses ist ein “heiliger Bezirk”, der mit den Möbeln von Horm.it eingerichtet ist, bei denen das Holz mit seiner Vielseitigkeit, seinen Farben und seiner scheinbaren Unvollkommenheit eine Hauptrolle spielt. Pero también es “recinto sagrado” el valioso espacio de la casa, amueblada con los muebles Horm.it, en los cuales la madera constituye la protagonista gracias a su versatilidad, a sus tonalidades y a su aparente imperfección. Carlos — Liberamente ispirato alle opere dell’artista venezuelano Carlos Cruz-Diez e alla sua Op Art. Chi guarda non è spettatore ma attore che interagisce col mobile stesso, variandone il colore al variare del punto visivo, percependo l’effetto di un sipario che si apre e si chiude.

Carlos — Frei inspiriert durch die Arbeiten des venezolanischen Künstlers Carlos Cruz-Diez und seine Op Art. Wer dieses Möbelstück betrachtet ist kein Zuschauer sondern ein Akteur, der mit demselben interagiert, indem er dessen Farben durch Ändern des Blinkwinkels variiert und den Effekt eines sich öffnenden und schließenden Vorhangs wahrnimmt.

L’arte di Carlos Cruz-Diez ha dato ispirazione a Renato Zamberlan per il progetto della credenza Carlos. Cruz-Diez è considerato uno dei maggiori esponenti dell’arte contemporanea. Le sue radici risalgono al Movimento Cinetico degli anni ‘50 e ‘60. Le sue opere di Op Art dimostrano che quando il colore interagisce con lo spettatore si trasforma in una realtà autonoma che può essere lanciata nello spazio, senza aneddoti o simboli, in continua evoluzione propria, al di là di ogni forma o supporto.

Carlos Cruz-Diez’s artwork has been the inspiration of Renato Zamberlan when designing the Carlos sideboard. Cruz-Diez is considered one of the major exponents of contemporary art in our time. His roots go back to the Kinetic Movement of the 1950s and 1960s. His Op Art work shows that when color interacts with the viewer it becomes an autonomous reality that can be launched into space, sans anecdotes or symbols, evolving on its own with no need of form or even support.

Renato Zamberlan s’est inspiré de l’œuvre de Carlos Cruz-Diez pour concevoir le buffet Carlos. Cruz-Diez est considéré comme l’un des principaux représentants de l’art contemporain actuel. Ses racines remontent au mouvement cinétique des années 1950 et 1960. Son travail d’Op Art montre que lorsque la couleur interagit avec le spectateur, elle devient une réalité autonome qui peut être lancée dans l’espace, sans anecdotes ni symboles, en évoluant par elle même sans besoin de forme ou même de support.

Die künstlerische Darstellung von Carlos Cruz-Diez war für Renato Zamberlan die Inspiration, das Carlos-Sideboard zu entwerfen.Cruz-Diez gilt als einer der wichtigsten Vertreter der zeitgenössischen Kunst unserer Zeit. Seine Wurzeln reichen zurück zur Kinetischen Bewegung der 1950er und 1960er Jahre. Seine Op Art-Werke zeigen, dass, wenn Farbe mit dem Betrachter interagiert, sie zu einer autonomen Realität wird, die in den Raum geworfen wird, ohne Anekdoten oder Symbole, und sich selbst entwickelt, ohne dass sie einer Form bedarf, nicht einmal einer Unterstützung.

La obra artística de Carlos Cruz-Diez sirvió de inspiración a Renato Zamberlan para diseñar el aparador Carlos.Cruz-Diez está considerado como uno de los máximos exponentes del arte contemporáneo de nuestro tiempo. Sus raíces se remontan al Movimiento Cinético de las décadas de 1950 y 1960. Su obra de arte óptico demuestra que cuando el color interactúa con el espectador se convierte en una realidad autónoma que se puede lanzar al espacio, sin anécdotas ni símbolos, y que evoluciona por sí misma sin necesidad de forma o incluso apoyo.

2003: Toyo Ito designed Moony, and with a play of lights inside the cabinet, he re-created the phases of the moon on the doors, his personal tribute to nature.

2014: Moony is wearing white, to enhance this poetic vision in an everyday object. White amplifies the effect like a sounding board that captures and multiplies light, at the same time giving the whole a more ethereal, almost dreamlike effect.

2014: Moony si veste di bianco, per esaltare questa poetica visione in un oggetto di uso quotidiano. Il bianco amplifica l’effetto come una cassa di risonanza che cattura e moltiplica la luce, rendendo al contempo l’insieme piu etereo, quasi onirico.

2014: Moony wird weiß bekleidet, um diese poetische Vision in einem Alltagsgegenstand zu betonen. Weiß verstärkt den Effekt wie ein Resonanzboden, der das Licht aufnimmt und multipliziert, um gleichzeitig das Ganze noch ätherischer, beinahe irreal zu gestalten.

Horm.it honours Toyo Ito on the occasion of the 2013 Pritzker Architecture Prize by covering, with a new skin, one of the most iconic products of the Great Master. Polka Dots blends the minimalist graphics and formal rigour evoked in the Za-Koenji theatre in Tokyo (2005-2008). The new cover is white, like the face of a Geisha, a symbol of Japanese beauty and elegance. When the internal lights in Polka Dots are switched on, the methacrylate disc inserts are illuminated, creating a magical play of light and shade.

Bla & BlaBla — Originelle Materialisierung eines Sessels (BLA) und ein Sofas (BLABLA), wo der Name selbst schon auf ironische und spielerische Weise an eine Konversation, einen Chat oder Dialog erinnert. Sinnliche Formen, die den Körper mit Leichtigkeit umspielen, nehmen den Platz ein, ohne ihn auszufüllen, beinahe wollüstig flüsternd.

Bla & BlaBla — Materialización original de un sillón (BLA) y un sofá (BLABLA), donde el propio nombre evoca de manera irónica y jovial la conversación, la charla, el diálogo. Las formas sinuosas, envolventes y ligeras ocupan el espacio sin llenarlo, casi susurrando sensualmente.

Bla & BlaBla — Originale matérialisation d’un fauteuil (BLA) et d’un canapé (BLABLA), où le nom même évoque de manière ironique et gaie la conversation, le dialogue. Les formes sinueuse, enrobantes et légères ccupent l’espace sans le remplir, presque dans un murmure sensuel.

Bla & BlaBla — Originale materializzazione di una poltroncina (BLA) e di un divanetto (BLABLA), dove il nome stesso evoca in maniera ironica e giocosa la conversazione, la chiacchiera, il dialogo. Forme sinuose, avvolgenti e leggere occupano lo spazio senza riempirlo, quasi sussurrando voluttuosamente.

Created by the skilful pencil of Orlandini Design in 2010 as a homage to Charles and Ray Eames, Ray grows up and becomes Ray Armchair. The original language is amplified by the legs which extend becoming armrests; leather or synthetic leather, combined with the wood, enhance its already strong aesthetic.

ray armChair — Im Jahr 2010 dem geschickten Bleistift von Orlandini Design entsprungen, als Hommage an Charles und Ray Eames, wird Ray erwachsen als Ray Armchair. Der Originalausdruck wird durch die Beine erweitert, die in der Verlängerung zu Armlehnen werden; mit Holz kombiniertes Leder oder Kunstleder betont die bereits eindrucksvolle Ästhetik.

ray armChair — Diseñada por el hábil lápiz de Orlandini Design en 2010 como homenaje a Charles y a Ray Eames, Ray se hace mayor y se convierte en Ray Armchair. El diseño original se ha amplificado desde las patas, que se extienden hasta convertirse en brazos; el cuero natural o ecológico combinado con la madera exaltan sus ya de por sí fuertes valores estéticos.

ray armChair — Née à partir de l’habile crayon d’Orlandini Design en 2010 comme un hommage à Charles et Ray Eames, Ray devient grand et devient Ray Armchair. La langue d’origine est amplifiée par les pieds qui se prolongent devenant des accoudoirs; cuir ou cuir synthétique combinés au bois en agrémentent son style déjà fortément esthétique.
