was to interview the existing manager and workers to understand the needs of the community. The second phase were compositional sketches and form study. I designed this library with a centralized plan to maximize security and social interactions.

DIvergent is a physical representation of Paul J. Pollock’s method/style of painting. During the Abstract Expressionist
sharp critics, His unique style of painting called, Drip Painting, proved innovative. For this project, I chose study Pollock’s life and painting, and allowed it to act as the backbone of my design.

Cenotaph is a monument dedicated to Pollock’s works of art, and serve to educate folks of his story, and inspire the community to pursue creative endeavors. Divergent acted as a
of this project. Located in Long Island City, New York City, the site was both an issue and advantage. To maximize useable space for social interaction, I designated 4 distinct quadrants: exterior courtyard, interior exhibition, screening room and the Cenotaph. Below the Cenotaph are commercial spaces.

Architectural Practice allowed me to understand the fundamental components of real-world drafting such as construction details and the importance of line weight. My attention to detail improved and my patience grew. This project includes Floor Plans, Elevations & Sections ,Mechanical & Electrical Plan, and Building schedules.

SOLAR HOUSEZ E R O - N E T E N E R G Y
Solar House was designed so that the total amount of annual energy use is strictly equivalent to the total amount of energy produced on site. Located in Eugene, Oregon, Solar House was designed to compliment Eugene’s unique climate zone. By using several different passive strategies, the house is cooled appropriately during high temperatures, and heated during low temperatures. Furthermore, the house produces, and stores energy through renewable resources, most notably, Solar Panels. Project requirements called to create a house that accommodates a child and a married couple comfortably.

Sunspace stores solar heat by direct gain, and distributes warm air, resulting in a warm house throughout the day.

design accentuates the east-west axis.
Photovoltaics, a renewable resource to produce energy. By using Solar Panels, it offsets my energy usage, and positions my building to be net-zero.

During warm summer months, Solar Shading block unwanted direct sunlight from solar glazing, reducing cooling loads.
Green Roofs provide water rentention, green space, and improved water and air quality while reducing energy.
Water Catchment systems divert and store rainwater, providing a clean, free source that reduces stormwater runoff as well as demand on potable water supplies
