1. Decide on a layout – maybe do a quick sketch2. Use a ruler to draw a guideline for where your heading

is going to be. Remember to draw a line for the top and bottom of your letters will start and end (Just like in your handwriting books). This will be your biggest writing and most important words. It should be the title of your topic and your title will let viewers know what the subject matter of your poster is.

3. Choose a font and write your title in large, NEAT, bold letters

4. Use a ruler to draw a guideline for where your sentences will appear.

5. In smaller, plainer font than your title, write out your information and or facts

6. Draw or paste in a main image illustrating your topic.7. If your poster looks too plain add a simple border to

your poster.

Choose an eye catching font for your title. Make sure that it relates to your topic. though. For example, don’t choose a font

that looks like trees when you’re talking about Albert Einstein but maybe if you are talking about deforestation.

Think about writing your title on an angle to add interest

Think about adding a border around your images or facts

that you want highlighted.

Maybe add solid, geometric shapes to highlight information and draw the viewer’s eye to

the focal point
