skin consultations are conducted in the privacy

of a treatment room and practitioners are able

to answer any questions or concerns clients

may have. during the consultation, a detailed

assessment will be carried out (along with a patch

test where required) and a personal programme

will be devised to suit requirements. the

consultation will take approximately

30 minutes.

Following the consultation (and a successful

patch test), clients will be able to start their

course of prescribed treatments. all treatments

are carried out in the safe, comfortable

environment of our stylish clinics using only the

latest technology and protocols. Practitioners

will also be able to advise on any required

aftercare and can recommend appropriate

aftER CAREthe success of your treatment will heavily depend on your recommended aftercare regime, which should be strictly adhered to. although aftercare plans will vary for each treatment, follow the guidance below for both laser hair removal and skin treatments (including skin peels, revitalisation, wrinkle, pigmentation and thread vein treatment):

alWays avOid :

| Perfume, aftershave, lotion, cream, oil or bleaching cream on the treatment area for 24 - 48 hours. aloe Vera gel is permitted

| Products containing Retinol during the course of your treatment as this could cause an adverse reaction, unless otherwise recommended by your practitioner

| deodorants or anti-perspirants in the treatment area for at least 48 hours (for iPL / laser treatments only)

| exercise for 24 - 48 hours after treatment. sweat glands are part of the hair follicle and sweating can lead to inflamed and infected follicles

| Unnecessary heating of the area for at least two weeks, including: Hot Baths, Jacuzzis, saunas, sun-beds and steam Rooms

| exposing skin to UV rays (sun exposure or the use of tanning beds) or self tan for at least two weeks

| anti-inflammatory medication i.e. aspirin, ibuprofen, Voltarol and others for at least one week after treatment (skin treatments only)

| exfoliating or peels for at least one week

| Waxing, threading, sugaring or any form of depilation on the treatment area during a course of treatment. the only approved method of hair removal following iPL or laser hair removal is shaving

| stEP 1: ClEansE the most important basis of skincare is an advanced cleanser to remove all traces of make up and grime. a variety of cleansers are available to address acne, redness, ageing and pigmentation, when used with a destinationskin cleansing cloth the skin is left scrupulously clean.

| stEP 2: CORRECt

after cleansing, serum should be applied. With active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin K, kojic acid to hydrate, calm and correct redness, even skin tone and lighten pigmentation.

| stEP 3: PREvEnt

our philosophy is to prescribe skincare to enhance and prolong the effects of our treatments. Powerful antioxidants can further protect the skin from free radicals and ageing. By using a serum packed with these antioxidants fine lines can be reduced and the appearance of the skin is improved.

| stEP 4: PROtECt

We will create a confidential personal file for you with electronic and written records. this will include any personal details you give us and possibly clinical before and after photographs. Your file will be retained for seven years after your most recent visit. destinationskin is registered under the data Protection act to keep detailed records for each client.

| dO i nEEd tO dO anythinG BEfORE My tREatMEnt?

Your practitioner will give you detailed instructions on any preparation depending on your skin type, treatment regime and type of course prescribed.

| hOW lOnG dOEs a tREatMEnt takE?

the consultation and patch test take 30 minutes, during which a medical history will be taken and the right treatments, courses and products identified. thereafter treatments can take as little as 15 minutes to 1 hour depending on the type of treatment prescribed and the number of areas being treated.

| dO i nEEd tO dO anythinG aftER My tREatMEnt?

no major action is necessary, but you may want to read the guidelines offered on the ‘after care’ page in this brochure, or ask your practitioner.
