Sample Yosemite / Mariposa County Tour Itinerary:

Fall – 2 nights and 3 daysDay One - Fish Camp - Home to The Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite and Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine RailroadTravel through the San Joaquin Valley on Hwy 99 and exit in Fresno, taking Hwy 41 to begin the climb into the foothills, arriving in the town of Fish Camp in time for an outdoor barbecue and historic steam train excursion.11:30 am Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. You will be arriving just in time to smell the aroma of an outdoor barbecue being prepared fresh for your group. Lunch will be served under the shade of the trees in the Train Station Yard. Then it is “All Aboard” for a one hour narrated Steam Train excursion over rails once used for logging at the turn of the century. Upon your return to the Station, take time to walk through the Thornberry Museum, try your hand at Gold Panning and visit the Sugar Pine Book store. Don’t forget to pick up a few souvenirs in the Ticket Office Gift Shop. (This is a great time for your driver to stop by the Tenaya Lodge and drop your luggage.)3:00 pm Wawona Pioneer History Center. Walk through a covered bridge to a self guided tour of an era gone by. Watch for the deer that graze on the only Golf Course located in a National Park.4:30 pm Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite. Our 4 star classic mountain resort with its warm atmosphere, wood burn- ing fireplaces, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and stat of the art spa. Nestled in the heart of the Sierra National Forest, you will have time to enjoy the comfort of your surroundings before dinner in one of the four restaurants on the property. Or have the Chef prepare a private dinner for your group.

Day Two - Yosemite Valley8:00 am Enjoy the hearty Breakfast Buffet at your hotel .9:00 am The stunning fall foliage sets the backdrop for your drive to Yosemite Valley. 10:30 am Yosemite Valley. We suggest the 2 Hour Narrated Valley Tour or possibly contracting with a Step-On Guide for a complete overview of Yosemite and its wonders. 1:00 pm Group Buffet Lunch Menu served in the Garden Terrace. Menu: Rainbow Trout & Grilled Chicken Breast. $15.00 incl. (escort & driver, complimentary)2:00 pm Must See & Do: Free Time to explore the Ansel Adams Gallery, the Indian Museum, the Yosemite Cemetery, Indian Cultural Exhibit, Historical Post Office & Shopping for Yosemite Souvenirs. 4:30 pm Depart Yosemite Valley on Hwy 140 the “All Season Motor Coach Highway for Yosemite.” Enjoy the drive along the Merced River - known for its Class 3-4 White Water Rafting in late Spring and Summer.6:00 pm Historic Mariposa. Check-in to your choice of one of our many properties. Day Three - Historic Mariposa8:00 am Breakfast at your hotel9:00 am California State Mining and Mineral Museum. Get a fascinating glimpse of California’s mineral wealth and colorful history.10:30 am Mariposa Brewing Company Tour & Tasting - just a stroll across the parking lot from the museum.11:30 am Lunch. Enjoy a Picnic Lunch (pre-ordered and picked up from one of our fine Deli’s) at the picnic tables of the Museum or reserve with one of our great downtown restaurants. 12:30 pm Mariposa County Courthouse and the Old Jail House Tour. Built in 1894 and the oldest superior court house west of the Mississippi.1:30 pm Mariposa Gold Rush History Center and Museum concentrates on the Gold Rush and the mining days of the late 19th century.2:30 pm Historic Downtown Mariposa - Shopping in our Antique Shops, Art Galleries and Boutiques.

Please note, if you are traveling from Southern California you may want to reverse this itinerary and spend your first night in Yosemite Valley at Yosemite Lodge and spend the second night in Historic Mariposa.
