Field Experience Abroad

The LLM in International Legal Studies includes an intensive week-long practical training that allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding of international legal issues. This academic activity is one of the highlights of this LLM.

Competition Law from an International Perspetive Our Field Experience Abroad on transnational law will take you to Luxembourg. This city is one of the key financial centers for acquiring an intensive understanding of Competition Law. We will know how markets work in the framework of the European legal system, exploring international companies’ strategies and international taxation from a multidisciplinary perspective. This academic program will count on the collaboration of the Luxembourg Competition Authority.

Genocide, Mass Atrocities and Memory under

Our Field Experience on Genocide, Mass Atrocities and Memory will take you to Krakow, Poland, where we will reflect during one week on issues related to genocide and memory. Against the background of the Holocaust, we will visit Auschwitz former concentration camp and the Krakow Ghetto to illustrate the logics of genocide and the politics of reparation, memory and international justice after gross violations of human rights. This academic program will count on the collaboration of the Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation.

International Mobility

The spring semester offers the opportunity of following some optional courses in prestigious universities such as the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands), Ateneo Law School of Manila (The Philippines), Washington College of Law at American University (USA), The George Washington University (USA), University of San Martin in Buenos Aires (Argentina) or Tiradentes University (Brasil).

Facilities and admission

The Bilbao Campus was declared a Site of Historical Interest in 2002. It is formed by several architecturally valuable buildings surrounded by green areas to enjoy a lovely campus life. The Campus is located in front of the Guggenheim Museum in the heart of the city.
