Development of Web-Based Tracer Alumni Information System

ABSTRACT
An alumni tracer is a graduate trace study or alumni trail, conducted to students after graduation. Traceralumniaimtoknowtheoutcomeofeducationintheformoftransitionfromtheworldofcollegeeducationtotheworldofwork.Inwritingthispracticeworkreporttheauthorconductsananalysisusingfieldstudiesandliterature studies on the alumni data collection system at the Faculty of Social and Political SciencesMalikussalehUniversitywhichisstilldonemanually,sothattheauthordecidedtobuildaweb-basedTracerAlumniinformationsystemthatcanfacilitatethetrackingofgraduatingstudents,traceralumnisystemcanalsobeoneofthesupportforcreditthecollege.ThissystemisdesignedusingPHP/Xamppprogramminglanguageby using structured diagrams, namelywith ContextDiagram,Data FlowDiagram (DFD), EntityRelationshipDiagram(ERD)anddatabasedesignusingMySQL.Keyword: InformationSystems;Tracer;Alumni;DFD;ERD.ThisworkislicensedunderaCreativeCommonsAttribution-ShareAlike4.0InternationalLicense.CorrespondingAuthor:YesyAfrilliaDepartmentofInformaticsEngineeringUniversitasMalikussalehJl.Batam,KampusBukitIndah,BlangPulo,KecamatanMuaraSatu,LhokseumaweEmail:[email protected]

1. INTRODUCTIONTraceralumniisatracestudyofgraduatesoralumniconductedtostudentsaftergraduation.Traceralumni aim to know the outcome of education in the form of transition from the world of collegeeducation to the world of work (Bakhtiar, 2017). Tracer alumni is a strategy for universities thatallowstogetinformationaboutweaknessesthatoccurintheeducationalprocessandlearningprocesssothat itcanbeusedasabasis foractivityplanningin improvingthe learningprocess inthefuture(Haerudin,2021).Traceralumnialsoprovidevaluableinformationontherelationshipbetweenhighereducationandtheworldofprofessionalwork,assess therelevanceofhighereducation, informationforstakeholders,andcompletenessofrequirementsforaccreditationofhighereducation(Meo,2013).
In general, there are several benefits that can be taken from the implementation of alumnitracer, among which are: In general, there are several benefits that can be taken from theimplementation of alumni tracer, among which are: 1) Institutions get information about thesatisfactionofservicesfeltbygraduatesrelatedtothelearningexperiencesprovidedduringthestudyperiod. Furthermore, this data canbe used as a tool to evaluate the performance of institutions; 2)Institutionsgetrelevant inputsthatcanbeusedasguidelines inthedevelopmentofcourses;3)Therelationship between graduates and alma mater can be improved, because when looking at theexperienceofwell-knowneducationalinstitutions,thebondofgraduatesandstrongnaturewillbringmany benefits to the almamater in linewith the recognition of graduates'work in the community(Hakiki,2020).
Traceralumnicanbeusedasawebsite-basedsystemwiththesystemcanrecorddatausingadatabase so that alumni data is stored in a structuredmanner, the system runs as expected by theauthor, website utilization can serve as a media survey, and through the online website surveyactivitiescanbedoneeffectivelyandefficiently(Lismawati,2020).
At this time, the process of collecting students who have become Alumni at the Faculty ofPoliticalandSocialSciences,MalikussalehUniversity(FISIPUNIMAL)isstilldonemanually.Wherein

theprocessisstilldonebyfillingbiodataonapieceofpaperthathasbeenprovidedbytheacademicfacultyofsocialandpoliticalsciences.Thiswayofdatacollectioncanbesaidtobeawaythatisstilllesseffectiveandlessefficient,whereinthiscasetherearestillsomeweaknessesinthemanagementandalsotheimplementationofthedata.Becauseoftheseproblems,itcanbeensuredthattheneedfortheexistenceoftraceralumniinformationsystemisveryimportantfortheFacultyofPoliticalandSocialSciencesMalikussalehUniversity.
2. RESEARCHMETHODThewritingmethodusedbytheauthorcoversseveralstages,namely:1.FieldStudiesInthisfieldstudy,theauthordirectlymadeobservationsondailyactivitiesconductedintheAcademicsectionoftheFacultyofSocialandPoliticalSciences,MalikusalehUniversity.2.LiteraturestudiesInthisliteraturestudytheauthorsconductedadirectreviewoftheissuesdiscussed,suchasproblemswithsystemdesignandeligibilityforsystemusage.A. FlowchartSystemA flowchart is a type of diagram that represents a sequential algorithm or instructional steps in asystem. Flowcharts are usually used as documentation evidence to explain the logical picture of asystem to be built. Basically, the flowchart is depicted using symbols, each symbol represents aparticular process, as for connecting one process to the next is described using a connecting line(Dalma,2021).Belowisaflowchartofalumnitracerinformationsystems:

3. RESULTSANDDISCUSSIONA. ContextDiagramContext diagrams are a tool in designing to build systems. Broadly speaking, about the inputs,processes,andoutputsresulting fromthesystemtobebuilt,whichaims todevelop thestateof thesystem being built. Context diagrams depict a large circle that can represent the entire processcontainedwithinasystem.ContextdiagramsarethehighestlevelinDFD(DataFlowDiagram)andare

In the context diagram of the Implementation of Web-Based Alumni Tracer Information
System in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Malikussaleh University above has 2 entitiesnamelyAdmin,andAlumniwhere:1.Theadmininputsthealumniaccessdatatobeabletoaccessthesystem.2.Theadmininputsthenamedataofthestudyprogramonthesystem.3.Alumniinputalumni'personaldataonthesystem.4.Alumnigetinfoaboutalumni'personaldatathathasbeeninputintheprevioussystem.5.Admingetsareportaboutalumnidatathathasbeeninputonthesystem.B. DataFlowDiagramDataflowdiagramisadiagramthatdescribestheflowofdatainthesystemtobuildthesysteminastructure. Data FlowDiagram (DFD) is a presentation in a system that uses four symbol shapes, inillustratinghowdataflowsthroughinterconnectedprocesses.DataFlowDiagrams(DFD)areusuallydevelopedusingtieredmethods(Hapsari,2018).ThelowestlevelintheDataFlowDiagram(DFD)willbeaninterfaceinthesystemtobebuilt(Anik,2020).

This process is a process to process access data, this process canbedone if the admin successfullyloginontheTracerAlumniinformationsystem.Inthisprocesstheadminasasystemuserwillinputaccessdatatobegiventoalumni.3.ProdiNameDataThisprocessisaprocesstoprocessthedataoftheprodiname,thisprocesscanbedoneiftheadminsuccessfullyloginontheTracerAlumniinformationsystem.Inthisprocesstheadminasasystemusercan input, edit, and delete, the data of the name of the study program in the Faculty of Social andPoliticalSciencesMalikussalehUniversity.4.AlumniDataThisprocess isaprocess toprocessalumnidata, thisprocesscanbedone if thealumnisuccessfullyloginontheTracerAlumniinformationsystem.Inthisprocessalumniassystemuserscaninput,andupdatethealumnidataitself.5.ReportThis process is an output process that is the info of the results of all data that has been inputted.Alumniassisteemuserscanonlyviewalumnidatareportswhileadminsassystemuserscanviewallexistingreportsandcanprintexistingalumnidatareports.C. EntityRelationshipDiagramERDorEntityRelationshipDiagram isadiagram form thatdescribes the relationshipbetweendataobjects that have relationships between relationships. Entity Relationship Diagrams are used tostructure data and relationships between data, and to describe them are used notations, symbols,charts, and so on. EntityRelationshipDiagrams canbeused as a basic frameworkor concept in aninformationsystem(Baharsyah,2021).Belowisentityrelationshiptraceralumniinformationsystem:

4. CONCLUSIONFromtheresultsofthediscussiontheauthorcangivethefollowingconclusions:1. Web-basedAlumniTracerSite isbuiltbecause the initial systemorsystemcommonlyused for
alumniloggingisstilldonemanually.2. With this Web-Based Alumni Tracer System can facilitate the data collection of graduated
students.3.
