Honeygirl Mokoena Honeygirl Mokoena is the Managing Principal

of Backhousia Consulting Services. She was

Head of Corporate Affairs at brandhouse

beverages and a member of the Leadership

Team for the same company. Her success

include the implementation on an employee

educational programme called Drink IQ which

was designed to empower employees about

the responsible use of alcohol - for which she

and her team were nominated for the MD’S

Award. The communication campaign for this

project, which she championed, called Phuza

Kahle, won a Gold Loerie Award for the Best

Internal/Employee Communications

programme.

She also pioneered the Brandhouse No1 Taxi

Driver campaign and forged partnerships with

other corporate concerns such as Toyota, to

reduce road carnage in the Taxi Industry. She

represented brandhouse at various stakeholder

forums which includes: serving as a Committee

Member at an Industry Association for

Responsible Alcohol Use (ARA), was part of

drafting the Industry BEE Charter in conjunction

with DTI and other interested groups and sat at

the SED and Enterprise Development Working

Groups. She represented the Company at various

Private Public Partnerships with Government

Stakeholders both at National and Provincial

Department Forums. In 2006, she was part of the

study tour/group to Australia and New Zealand,

comprising of the Alcohol Industry Major Players

and Senior Members of Parliament led by then

Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee of

Treasury Mr N Nene now Deputy Minister of

Treasury, to investigate effective ways of drafting a

National Alcohol Strategy and ways of curbing

alcohol misuse.

Previously she worked as a Training Manager for

Soekor (now called Petro SA) after graduating

from the Wits Business School with a Post

Graduate Diploma (PDM) in Human Resources.

She also studied a Human Resources

Management Diploma with the Institute of

Personnel Management (IPM) achieving a

distinction for Statistics. She did a Management

Development Programme (MDP) with the

Graduate School of Business at the University of

Stellenbosch. She also studied for

various Diplomas with the Public Relations

Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA).

She worked as a teacher for four years at TP Sililo

High School in Witbank after obtaining her B. Ed

Degree from Wits University. Prior to that she

studied for B. Paed Degree at the University of

Zululand. She currently serves on the regional

committee of Association of Personnel Service

Organisation (APSO), and has recently been

elected as a Member of the Institute of Directors in

Southern Africa (IOD). She is also a member of

the Emalahleni Chamber of Commerce and Black

Management Forum respectively. Honeygirl is a

Certified Biometric Officer by MIE.

We use state-of-the-art technology to enhance

performance and provide swift human capital

solutions. We capture, track and monitor all

projects and can search and find prospective

candidates within minutes, if we already have the

required talent on our database. In addition, to

reduce cycle times through the use of

technology, we follow best practice standards

such as: First-hand communication between

your organisation and ours, and between our

organisation and the candidate. Facilitate

regular follow ups which we believe

are crucial in ‘Talent Warehousing” we use a

state- of- the- art software programme called

Placement Partner.

Double screening to ensure authenticity and verify

credentials of the candidates, thus representing

the client’s best interest at all times. We have

twelve (12) certified Biometric officers by MIE and

we use Smart Screen to search for variety of

items, which include but not limited to: Criminal

Record by AFIS (Fingerprint testing), CCMA

Awards, Qualifications, Deed Search etc.

We also do Skills Assessment, using Proficien C,

market leader in the development of assessment

tools for the South Africa market

Should the need arise; there are partnership

agreements in place with other specialist agencies

in the industry nationally to source candidates

through them. Backhousia Consulting Services

will manage these vendors with the same

attention to detail and quality standards as we

expect from ourselves.

on their Expanded Public Works Programmes
