OBJECTIVE
Sensors and Instrumentation are a large and diverse portfolio underpinned by Control. Their importance is demonstrated by the range of technologies covered and the field of applications like Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Medical, Food Processing, Machine Vision, Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas etc. and often acts as key enabler for research. Availability of computer and communication networks has further enhanced the scope of this domain and brought major advances. This Faculty Development Program has been intended to introduce to the participants state-of-the-art `Sensors and Instrumentation Systems’ by focusing on recent development in the areas of Data Acquisition Systems, Smart Sensors & Instrumentation Systems, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Control, SCADA System and Virtual Instrumentation. An important feature of this FDP would be inclusion of hands-on practicals covered by utilizing rich lab facilities available in TIFAC-CORE Centre of the college.
SCOPE & SCHEDULE OF THE PROGRAM
The course content is designed to meet the basic objective of “Sensors, Instrumentation and Control” which is core subject at undergraduate and postgraduate levels of many Universities. As part of this FDP, interaction with subject experts both academic and from the field is intended with a good deal of emphasis on the related Lab sessions.The topics and the resource persons are identified as follows:-
Registration & Inauguration : 0830 – 0930 hrs (7 May 14)
Lab sessions (7 & 8 May) : 1400 – 1600 hrs.
Lab session (9 May) : 1130 – 1330 hrs.
Valedictory Function (9 May): 1430 hrs. (Tea & Lunch will be served during Lecture / Lab sessions)
ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad established in 1998, is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow and is approved by the AICTE. The College offers B. Tech courses in seven disciplines of Engineering, M. Tech courses in Automation & Robotics, Electrical Power & Energy Systems (EPES), Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, VLSI and Mechanical Engineering. It also offers Masters in Computer Application (MCA). The college strives for excellence and has the distinction of receiving Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow Academic Excellence Award for Best Engineering College consecutively for two years.
The college also has the distinction of being the only Engineering College in the state of Uttar Pradesh to have received approval from Deptt. of Science & Technology, Government of India, for establishment of Centre of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) in the field of Automation & Robotics under the mission REACH of TIFAC.
The college has also established a number of industry relevant facilities in collaboration with reputed multinational companies. These include KUKA Industrial Robotic Training Centre, NI-Lab VIEW Academy, Bosch Rexroth Centre of Competence in Automation Technologies, Siemens PLM and Janatics Pneumatic knowledge Centre.
Situated on the Delhi-Hapur Bypass (NH-24), the collage is a short trip by road/rail from the national capital, Delhi. Spread over 40 acre with lush green lawns and trees, the collage has 6 academic blocks and all recreational/sports & hostel facilities. During May the weather will be warm but moderate.
