By Brenda Erdahl“Thorough,” “professional,”
“hard working,” “trustworthy,”“friendly,” “integrity” and a“stellar reputation” are some ofthe words customers have usedto describe DeZiel Heating &A/C in Buffalo.
Since 1998, the family-owned and operated HVACcompany has made keeping itscustomers happy the numberone priority, and it’s been pay-ing off.
The company has earned afive-star rating from Home Ad-visor and Google with morethan 100 reviews, and the com-pliments keep pouring in.
“My heat went out and notknowing much about furnaces Iwas a little nervous of finding atrusting person to fix my issue. From the initial phone call earlyin the morning the man who an-swered was so professional andfriendly I felt right away I madea good choice. When the phonecall request was then followed
up with the exceptional serviceprovided by a young gentlemanwho even took the time in ex-plaining everything and answer-ing my questions. If this is theirnormal everyday service, then Iwill definitely, only be callingthem for all my service needs. Thanks, DeZiel and keep up thegreat customer service andwork,” a happy Montrose cus-tomer said.
Mike and his wife Dana ofMaple Lake own DeZiel Heat-ing & A/C located behind Cul-vers in Buffalo, and are proud toservice the west metro, all ofWright County and surroundingcities with all of its heating andair conditioning needs.
This time of the year, theDeZiel’s and their staff, whichincludes six technicians, arebusy keeping homeowners coolwith central air installations andrepairs.
To keep utility bills reason-able throughout the summer,DeZiel Heating & A/C staff rec-
ommend homeowners performa yearly maintenance on theirA/C systems to make sure it isrunning as efficiently as possi-ble.
DeZiel technicians follow a21-point check list when theycome to your home to performan A/C maintenance inspection. At the top of the list is cleaningand checking the coil, outdoorfan and blades so the systemdoesn’t overheat, and inspectingall electrical connections.
“We make sure everything istight and bright,” Mike said.
DeZiel Heating & A/Cmakes it easy for customers toremember to have their systemchecked by offering a servicepartner plan for $9.99 a month.By becoming a service partner, customers will receive a callevery fall and spring to remindthem.
“We call you so you don’thave to think of it,” Dana said.
The cost of the program cov-ers two tune ups, one in the falland the other in the spring.Members also receive a 10 per-cent discount on parts and be-come a priority customer, whichmeans when you call, your jobwill be scheduled ahead of oth-ers who are not priority mem-bers.
“The going rate for a tune-upis $115, so it’s a good value,”Mike said.
If a problem does arise dur-ing those hot months, DeZielHeating & A/C has someoneavailable 24 hours to fix it.
“We pride ourselves on ourvery fast response, and if thereis an emergency, we’re even
faster,” Mike said. “We strivefor excellence, putting our cus-tomer’s best interests first, andwe treat each and every homewe enter as our own.”
Being certified NATE, whichstands for North AmericanTechnician Excellence, meansDeZiel technicians can offer afaster and more accurate diag-nosis.
Mike himself carries mastercompetency cards in gas, refrig-eration, sheet metal and hotwater steam, something notmany people in the business canclaim.
In 2015 the company wasawarded Amana’s Dealer Excel-lence Award which is given outannually to Amana dealers whonot only meet, but excel at themanufacturer’s core values ofintegrity, level of service pro-vided and volume of training at-tended each year.
Besides maintenance,DeZiel’s technicians are skilledat furnace and central air repairand installation. They also in-stall and maintain many mini-split systems, gas fireplaces,heat-pumps, and Plenumheaters.
“For every installation we doin Buffalo, we will donate $25to our local food shelf. So helpour community thrive and growby buying locally,” Mike said.
DeZiel currently has sixtechnicians on staff, but thecompany is always expandingand growing. That desire togrow has led to the inclusion ofa master plumber, which meansDeZiel can now install waterheaters as well.
“The DeZiel Team was greatto work with. Mike worked withme to determine the best solu-tion to keep my family cool,
comfortable and warm at a veryaffordable price. Jeff, Andy, RJ,and Hunter are very hard-work-ing guys that produced a supe-rior product during one of thehottest days of the summer. They kept me up to speed onprogress and finished up with aQ&A session to ensure all myquestions were answered. Greatpeople, great service and greatproducts,” a happy Buffalo cus-tomer said.
Another customer fromMaple Lake reported: “We de-cided to go with DeZiel becauseof their stellar reputation and
excellent staff. Matt Weber didan outstanding presentation andis an icon of professionalism. The crew was very courteousand respectful. The split A/Cunit was installed in a timelymanner and functions flaw-lessly. The crew did a wonderfuljob of end user training. Wewould definitely refer DeZiel toanyone looking for an HVACcontractor.”

Father’s Day is an annualcelebration of fathers and thecontributions they make to theirfamilies. Dads get their due onFather’s Day, when sons, daughters and wives typicallygive dad a few gifts to showtheir appreciation for all he hasdone for them and how much hemeans to them.
Finding the right Father’sDay gift is not always so easy.No two fathers are the same, sowhile a silk necktie might bringa smile to one father’s face, such a gift may fall flat withother dads. By asking them-selves a few questions in theweeks before their dads’ bigday, Father’s Day shoppers cannarrow down their options andfind gifts that Dad will appreci-ate.
What are Dad’s hobbies?Even if your father or hus-
band loves what he does for a
living, a gift that indulges oneof his favorite hobbies may bejust the thing to make this Fa-ther’s Day extra special. Out-doorsmen may prefer some newcamping or fishing gear, whilefathers who have an artistic sidemay prefer some new paintbrushes and canvasses. If Dad’sa car guy, book a day at anearby racetrack where he canrace around the track and em-brace his inner race car driver.
What does Dad need?Sometimes the best gifts are
what a recipient needs as op-posed to what he wants. If youno longer live at home, ask yourmother if there’s anything yourfather needs that would makehis life easier or more enjoy-able. If you live at home, payclose attention to your father tosee if there’s anything that couldlighten his load. For example, ifDad loves spending time in the
garden, take a sneak peek at hisgardening tools and replace anythat have grown dull or rusty.
What does Dad want? For the Dad who doesn’t
seem to need anything, considersomething he may want thathe’s never had before. If Dadloves to cook but has never hadformal training, enroll him in acooking class. If Dad loves alocal sports team but hasn’tbeen to a game in years, pur-chase tickets to a game and gowith him to make the day evenmore special.
Is Dad a techie?Dads with a love for technol-
ogy are living in the golden ageof gadgets. Father’s Day shop-pers looking to satisfy their fa-thers’ love of technology have ahost of possibilities at their dis-posal. Even if Dad is an earlyadopter who tends to get all thelatest gadgets before anyone
else, the tech industry evolvesso rapidly that you’re bound tofind something new on Dad’swish list that he hasn’t pur-chased yet.
Finding the right Father’sDay gift can be challenging. Butshoppers who stop to think
about their father and whatmakes the family patriarch
happy can unearth a host of giftideas that Dad is sure to love.

Many people are passionateabout traveling. Travel, whetherit’s domestic or international, can be an invaluable way to ex-perience other cultures, meetnew people and get a sense ofhistory.
As valuable as travel can be,many people feel they cannot af-ford to travel. However, thereare ways to travel on a budgetand still have fun.
• Stay close to home. Menand women traveling on limitedbudgets can save money and stillhave fun by staying close tohome. The closer your destina-tion to your home, the less costlyyour trip figures to be. By visit-ing destinations that are withindriving distances, travelers cansave money on the cost of air-fare, which is typically amongthe most expensive componentsof traveling. Road trips also af-ford travelers ample flexibilitythat might not be available totravelers who are travelingabroad. That flexibility can
make road trips more fun thanmore structured vacations.
• Choose affordable destina-tions. Overseas travel is not nec-essarily more expensive thandomestic travel. Certain destina-tions are ideal for bargainhunters year-round. Research af-fordable destinations via aGoogle search or utilize the“deals” sections on travel web-sites such as Orbitz®.
• Cook some of your meals.Food is among the most costlyexpenses for travelers. Men andwomen can save some money bycooking some of their meals dur-ing their vacations. Doing sosaves money on dining out, andtravelers willing to experimentby cooking dishes native to theplaces they’re visiting can havesome fun in the kitchen.
• Travel during the offseason.Avoiding certain destinationsduring the height of theirtourism seasons is another greatway to save. The cost of lodgingand airfare peaks during tourist
season, but travelers willing totravel during the offseason cansave substantial amounts ofmoney. In addition to savingmoney on lodging and airfare, travelers who plan their vaca-tions during the offseason mayalso save money on local attrac-tions.
• Do your homework regard-ing your destination. Thanks towebsites such as TripAdvisor®,travelers can now learn as muchas they want to learn about agiven destination before theyever visit it. Such websites canbe invaluable resources to trav-elers who want to enjoy their va-cations but must do so on abudget. Research affordabletourist attractions and restau-rants, even looking for free ac-tivities. Such research can be funand make for more enjoyabletrips.
Travelers who must travel onbudgets can still have fun andmake lasting memories on theirvacations.

Dads are often the first heros intheir young children’s lives. Dadschase away ghosts in the closet, lettheir daughters dance on their toesand teach their sons how to winthe heart of their first crush.
The first Father’s Day a newdad spends with his growing fam-ily can be quite memorable, ascelebrating one’s fatherhood forthe first time is a unique and spe-cial time. Spouses and other fam-ily members can go the extra mileto make this year that much morespecial for first-time fathers.
• Let Dad sleep in. Chances areDad is enamored with his littlebundle of joy, but it’s well-knownthat being a new father oftenmeans sacrificing sleep time —especially for the first severalmonths to a year of that child’slife. Enlist the help of a familymember who can be on babywatch while Dad gets to sleep in
on the weekend of his big day. With some extra sleep, Dad canenjoy Father’s Day that muchmore.
• Create a first-year memorybook. Take the time to put to-gether a scrapbook of the photosand moments baby and Dad havegotten to spend together. So muchfocus is often placed on a newbaby and his or her mother thatDad may be left playing secondfiddle. Make it clear that fathersare key to their children’s devel-opment and happiness, too.
• Make a baby keepsake. Usewashable ink so that baby can signa Father’s Day card with a hand orfootprint. The tradition can be re-peated year after year until thechild is old enough to write.
• Go overboard on gifts. The
idea isn’t to buy Dad’s love, butDad’s first Father’s Day is a trulyunique time. On behalf of his first-born, purchase a few differentgifts — those items that he hasbeen interested in buying but hasresisted in favor of saving moneyfor new onesies and burp cloths.Or invest in one special event gift, such as tickets to a game to see hisfavorite team or a concert to catcha favorite band.
• Boost his ego. Get matchingT-shirts for baby and Dad withcute memes and sayings, such as“Couch Potato” and “Tater Tot.”
Father’s Day comes once ayear. However, a father’s very firstFather’s Day occurs just once. Usethe opportunity to pamper Dad sohe can savor this truly special ex-perience.
