Diabetes Education Materials for Health Educators
One of the four overarching goals of the national health agenda, Healthy People 2020, is to “achieve health equity, eliminate disparities, and improve the health of all Americans.” With that in mind, health educators are tasked with ensuring that “effective communication” is provided to all people including: 1) those with disabilities as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act, and 2) those with Limited English Proficiency as outlined by the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services.

American Diabetes Association’s “Living with Type 2 Diabetes” Program Free. Five packages of diabetes education materials are sent by U.S. mail or via e-mail over a period of one year. Available in Spanish.
