How to Customize Mad Mimi

Mad Mimi is an email marketing service that allows you to create a subscription form (“email catcher”) and to send emails and newsletters to multiple recipients. For this tutorial, we will use the free option.

Sign up for an account, if you haven’t yet.

To log in, enter your details.

To create a web form, click the web form tab.

Click the “Add a Webform” button.

This is the default design. Your company name or business name will appear as the heading.

To add a field, click the dropdown that says “Add a field.”

Select the field that you want to add. In this case, we will select “Name.”

Notice that the field, “Name,” has been added.

To customize the theme, click on the “Theme” tab.

Click on the little gray rectangle below the words “Logo Background Color.”

A color palette will appear. Choose the color that you want.

The color of the heading will change accordingly.

To put this form on your blog or website, you will need the code.

To get the code, click the “Embed” tab.

A box will appear. Copy and paste the code in the box.

What if you want to change the text on the sign up button?

Let’s say that instead of a button that says:

… you want a button that says “Subscribe Me!”

How can you do it?

You can do it by editing the HTML code.

However, the form will lose its formatting (design and color) and the code will just display the name and email field…

…like this:

(Notice that the text on the sign-up button is different.)

To get the HTML code, click on the “Plain Embed” tab.

A box containing the HTML code will appear.

Click in the space where the code is found to select everything.

Copy and paste the code onto a notepad.

When you’re on the notepad, press CTRL + F. A small box will appear.

Type “sign up!” in the box next to the words “Find What.”

Click “Find Next.”

“Sign up!” will be highlighted in blue. The phrase appears twice in the code.

Change “Sign up!” to the text that you want. In this example, I used “Subscribe me!”

Paste the code in your notepad onto your blog or website.

Let’s say you want your subscribers to land to a certain web page after confirming their subscription.

To do this, click on the “Advanced” tab.

Paste the link to the webpage inside the rectangle below the words “Activation Landing Page.”

Your subscriber will be brought to a landing page where you may have a welcome message for them or where they can download a free gift.
