As already mentioned the, dholpur district is considered to be one amongst the
industrial backward district of the state. As regard to the availability of
infrastructure facilities the district possess adequate facilities for the

The infra- structure such as power, rail and road network communication etc.
Is adequate to counter to the present level of industrialization keeping in view

development with 1300 industrial plots. However other social amenities like
education, medical & health facilities network of banks and other financial
institution etc are just sufficient.
14.4 Strategies Suggested:
To accelerate the rate of industrial growth in the district it is essential firstly to
give stress to the development and expansion of existing industrial areas along
with processing new industrial areas and location which have right prospects
for coming up of new industrial units and secondly to suggest the package of
viable and feasible new industrial ventures which have good prospects in the
district.
14.5 Potential Industries/Agro Based:
The list potential industrial ventures based on the available resources of
demand ofthe local as well as neighboring districts people the under suggested
strategy is drawn after detailed discussion with district existing industrialists
and trade association apart of consulting other related local offices in dholpur
district. The details of such potential industrial units are as given under:-

Foot loose industries:
These industries are market oriented and do not generally depend upon
resources available locally and in the surrounding nearby areas. Rather the
setting up of industries mainly depend upon the individuals choice and
convenience. Dholpur district being connected with good roads and railway
routes (both narrow gauge as well as broad gauge) can be the good location.
For setting up a few such industries in its township. Semi urban areas as well as
rural areas .a list of such suggested footloose industries are as under:-

14.6 Proposed augmentation of industrial area:
Proposed expansion
Keeping in view the heavy demand for industrial plots and number of plots
already allotted in both the industrial area located at dholpur. It is proposed
hereby to further expand the following industrial areas.
Samathura industrial area:
Besides this area due to heavy demand of dholpur stone, three more industrial
areas at sarmathura could be development as stone quarries are locally
available.
Proposed new industrial areas:
A part of the proposed expansions of the above state two industrial areas at
dholpur it is also proposed to develop one more industrial area at national
highway no- 3 location. This additional industrial area in being suggested for
two reasons.
(1) There is no other suitable location except dholpur in the district for
augmentation of the industrial development and.
(2) as dholpur city is also well connected with other commercial and trading
cities of u.p. and m.p. like agra and gwalior and entrepreneurs from these
areas can be attracted for setting up their own venture locations and secondly
if the package of some extra incentive ( as compared to gwalior and agra) may
be given to them.
14.7 Strategy For Artisans/Handlom Weavers Upgradation:
In the state of rajasthan dholpur district has some tradition of handicrafts in
different avenue, the two major among them are manufacturing of aratari and
shoe. In rajasthan shoe making is being done by artisans of sagar para, mohalla
and old city, dholpur.
14.8 export from district:
The significant items of district are skimmed milk powder, stone tiles and slab
having the export potentials.
14.9 Suggestion:
It is proposed to organized few skill and technology upgradation programs
(stup) by industrial development bank india, ruda, simultaneously few skill
development short term training programs of micro, small & medium
enterprises development institutes (msme) would also remain beneficial for
the existing artisans for handicraft trade, these proposed programs will
certainly benefit the artisans by way of enhancement in their skills as well as
the quality of the products manufactured by them.

5. The district has a good population of livestock, and therefore, a few
livestock based industries are being suggested in the district.
6. The major minerals available in the district are sand stone, limestone,
bajri and masonry.
7. As regards to existing infrastructure facilities in the district , the main
lacunas is the inadequate rial and road linkages /connection of the
