The Walk is a three week, 263 mile, religious pilgrimage through Portugal and Spain. The Pilgrimage makes it’s way through Portugal and into Spain where the adventure ends at the burial site of St. James at Santiago de Compostela cathedral in Galicia , Spain. Lee recalled some of her favorite sections of the Pilgrimage as the walks through the forests and the beautiful sight of the lush vineyards. Other sites to remember included the Spanish men whom Lee eloquently described as “hot”. At night some would stay at hostiles, hotels that would charge as little as $7 per night. Walkers that brave the journey are given a certificate upon completion and rewarded with the great memories built. During the holy week, approximately 120,000 people gather at the burial site in Galicia. Lees descriptions of the travels and experiences were well spoken and took the audience to a different place. 67th Anniversary Dinner

The Mighty Rotary Club of West Sacramento celebrated its 67th Anniversary on Thursday, February 25, 2016. The event was well attended, beautifully hosted by Club Pheasant (as always!) and full of great friends and ferocious Vikings alike. Jim Cahill warmed the crowd up with some facts from 1949 the year of the club’s formation and a welcomed stroll down memory lane by listing most of the past presidents. Speaking of Presidents, as is customary, the President Elect Elect was named and Jim will find himself on the list of past presidents as of July 1, 2018. Between Heine, Bill and Jim behind the wheel, it is fact that the Mighty in the Mighty Rotary Club of West Sacramento will remain. Awards were also handed out. Tim Kwong was saluted for his accomplishments as Membership Cahir this year, Ken Ruzich and Ken Wilson were honored with Paul Harris Awards spotlighting their tireless dedication to Rotary and the Community. The true moment of the night was the awarding of the Club Service Award to Dan Ramos. Dan’s family was present and the love for Dan in the community and in the Club was thick in the air. Thank you to Luan Christ and all of the folks at Club Pheasant who made the night one to remember.
