Weve been listening to feedback from our Private Beta partners and heard thatthey need to review applications as theyrsquore submitted which helps speed upthe recruitment process and make their time more manageable Employers willalso get a sense of how many people applying are suitable for interview Theteam have been working on this and wersquore pleased to say the functionality isnow ready to use in the NHS Jobs service

So what has changedWhen a vacancy is live employers can now score applications against the rolecriteria added when creating their advert and can extend a closing date ifneeded Employers will still need to confirm their shortlist after the advert hasclosed

Armed Forces Identifier on NHS Jobs shortlisted forSmarter Working Live Awards

Through Step into Health a programme supported by NHS Jobs members ofthe Armed Forces community can connect to NHS organisations to set uptraining opportunities clinical and general work placements insight days andreceive application support The programme provides a dedicated pathway intoa career in the NHS

On the 1st May 2019 in partnership with NHS Employers NHS Jobs introducedan indicator for the question lsquoAre you a member of the Armed Forcescommunityrsquo for candidates to tick which will remain with them throughout theirapplication process Organisations are able to track and report on candidates

and vacancies advertised for those who have ticked the box

NHS Employers alongside NHS Jobs have now been shortlisted for theSmarter Working Live Awards within the People - Workforce Managementcategory for developing recruiting systems to enhance the experience for theArmed Forces community

Gemma Wright Programme Lead at NHS Employers said ldquoWe are delighted tohave been shortlisted for the Smarter Working Live Awards It is great to seeour partnership efforts with NHS Business Services Authority and Tracrecognised around developing recruiting systems to enhance the experiencesof members of the Armed Forces community who apply for roles in the NHSThe Armed Forces Identifier also enables NHS employers to effectively supportapplicants through the recruitment processrdquo

The Smarter Working Live Awards will take place on 26th November 2020 atManchester Central Congratulations to the NHS Jobs and NHS Employersteams for all of their hard work

The Optimisation Implementation Team begin PrivateBeta with Trac users

The Optimisation ImplementationTeam are responsible fortransitioning organisations from thecurrent NHS Jobs service to the newservice The team have successfullyonboarded over 3000 organisationsto the new service since January2020 and are continuing to onboardorganisations on a daily basis

We are excited to begin the Private Beta phase with organisations using the 3rd

party recruitment platform Trac This will allow us to understand the Trac userneeds and ensure the transition from the current to the new NHS Jobs serviceis as seamless as possible Upon completion of Private Beta we will proceed tostart onboarding all Trac users There are lots of exciting new benefits for Tracusers transitioning to the new service which we will share as part of youronboarding journey

We are working with all other 3rd party Applicant Tracking Service (ATS)providers on the development of the new NHS Jobs service to enable testingand begin the onboarding journey for users in the coming months

Stakeholder Engagement Team update

Since sharing our Private Beta plans wersquove been busy confirming the partnerorganisations whorsquoll be the first to adopt the new NHS Jobs service and havebeen introducing them to the wider NHS Jobs team The enthusiasm of ourpartner organisations has shone through with their willingness to take part andcontribute during the conversations wersquove had with them and ourImplementation Team colleagues Itrsquos been a great start to what we hope will bemany long-term collaborative relationships with users of the new service

Wersquoll be on hand throughout the Private Beta phase alongside ourImplementation Team colleagues and wersquoll join the scheduled check-in calls toprovide additional support and build on our existing relationships Once theImplementation Team have successfully onboarded our partners wersquoll keep thecontact going providing a consistent knowledgeable and friendly presence astheir use of the new service develops and evolves

Once Private Beta has completed wersquoll use the experiences and insights wersquovegained with our partners to inform and enhance our ongoing conversations withour other organisations who are waiting to transition to the new service

Calling Clinical Commissioning GroupsThe Stakeholder Engagement Team primarily work with dedicated recruitmentteams but wersquore turning our attention to colleagues in Clinical CommissioningGroups (CCGs) In July wersquoll be running a series of webinars to help recruitersin CCGs in England understand the changes to NHS Jobs and well beanswering any questions they may have
