Didier Fiuza Faustino Blouin Art Info November 8 th , 2016 by Paul Durand Didier Fiúza Faustino: My Crafts at Michel Rein Gallery, Paris BY PAUL DURAND | NOVEMBER 08, 2016 Michel Rein Gallery is exhibiting Didier Fiúza Faustino’s “My Crafts” that will continue to run through December 17, 2016. This is the artist’s third solo exhibition at the gallery after “We can’t go home again (2013)” and “The Wild Things (2011).” Didier Fiúza Faustino infuses his works somewhere between Art and Architecture, between space and sculpture. The theme of the exhibition is very precisely that of uncertain seating and denied commodities, carried by structures that cannot exactly be called “chairs.” The ten works made over the past sixteen years mishandle not only our bodies but also the established theories and ideas of design and structure popularised by conventional specialists. The objects reduced to their most simple structures become both a territorial marker and an observation post; their calculated instability puts the user at risk and consequently stimulates attention. Didier Fiúza Faustino (b. 1968, lives between Paris and Lisbon) and his works have been exhibited worldwide. The exhibition is on display at Michel Rein Gallery, 42 rue de Turenne, F-75003 Paris.
