Dear Teen Zine

My best friend is called Jacob. We’re very

close but we’re also very different. Jacob

loves animals. I like animals too but

clothes are my favourite.

A few weeks ago I went into town and a woman stopped me in the street.

She was a scout for a model agency. I went to the agency with my mum the

following week. They took some photos and I got an interview for a

modelling job almost immediately.

When I arrived at the interview they wanted to take some test

photographs. They gave me some clothes to wear. There was a fur jacket

and some other clothes with animal fur. I was so excited that I didn’t think

about the fur.

When I told Jacob about it he was so angry that he walked out of the room.

He says that I shouldn’t take the job because they want me to wear animal

fur and he thinks that wearing fur is cruel. I really want to be a model but I

don’t want to lose my best friend. Please help!

Butterfly Farm is UK´s largest tropical butterfly paradise! It has the largest insect display in the world. There are also hundreds of butterflies, spiders, a few free flying birds and a pool containing fish. Stratford Butterfly Farm was opened by David Bellamy in 1985 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010. In our famous Insect City fascinating and strange insects fly around you and come within inches of your eyes!!

We show regular wildlife videos on a large screen. The Papillon gift shop offers a big range of gifts to take home. It also sells sweets and drinks. There is a children´s playground and parking nearby.

Wheelchair access is provided.

Open every day 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (summertime) 10:00 am – sunset (wintertime)

Entry fees: Adults £6.25, Seniors & Students £5.75, Children (under 3’s go free) £5.25, Family (2 adults & 2 children) £18.50. Group discounts are available.
