Thank you for all of your support this year. It’s been a fantastic year at Great Oaks seeing our young people develop in so many different ways through all the many activities and learning experiences that they have had. Many thanks for all the kind comments and constructive feedback in the parent surveys that have been sent back. We always want to know what we are getting right and where we can improve to make Great Oaks the very best school that it can be. Have a great summer, see those returning refreshed in September and all the best to those leaving us this year. Great Oaks College students who are based at the farm had an Awards afternoon and teaparty in their wonderful garden to say goodbye to Alfie and Simran on Tuesday. On Monday evening the Lodge students held a BBQ to bid farewell to Tarek, Sammy and Joe who are moving on to a variety of settings in September. We had a very special Assembly for Leo Tarry our former Assistant Head and Class teacher who left on Wednesday and also to Euan Manning and Roxanne Cooper two of our Teaching Assistants who are taking on new challenges. We wish them all well.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

Thanks to everyone who turned out to support the Sports Day on Thursday. It was a fun morning and good to see everyone participating (although we could have done with a bit more support for the parents race!). The pupils were able to cool off in the afternoon on our legendary waterslide which runs all the way down the hill.

Sports Day and waterslide

Well done to Abigail, Amelia, Alex, George and Ryan who have all passed their complete Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award and are now working on their silver. We have lots of other students working on the different sections of both the Bronze and Silver awards.

There is a DofE club running every Monday evening (starts again in Sept) any pupils Year 10 and above are welcome to attend.

Great Oaks’ got Talent

Great Oaks has definitely got talent. Watched over by Simon Cowell we had our annual talent competition on Monday with a huge variety of acts including bands, dancers, magicians, singers and even comedians. There were over 30 talented acts packed into an hour and a half
