Digipak Analysis As seen in our digipak above, this is our final front cover; it shows Max crouching down wearing stylish, modern clothes to give him a current representation for his brand. He is wearing a ‘frsh’ snapback which he is holding with his right hand to create a fierce pose for his potential audience to see. The colour of his top matches the strobe light affect which was created to make an original front cover. Max is does not preview his image to be directly about him, this is portrayed in his body language as he is not looking openly at the camera, he is lowered and is turning his head. Pragmatically we could assume this is to create a mysterious feel to his brand, not only for his audience to discover but about the single ‘I Know’ specifically. Digipak Analysis

As seen in our digipak above, this is our final front cover; it shows Max crouching down wearing stylish, modern clothes to give him a current representation for his brand. Pragmatically we could assume this is to create a

mysterious feel to his brand, not only for his audience to discover but about the single ‘I Know’ specifically. We chose the front cover to look very similar to the original artist of the song ‘Shift K3y’ to show a familiar character, and that Max is able to be as successful as Shift K3y. It also allows his potential audience to recognise the single and to grab their attention, as they may see the similarities in the two artists. We have deliberately created this for Max to develop a bigger fan base as they will see a link between Shift K3y and Max himself.

This is the inside 3 panel photo of Max turning to the side, facing down to the floor. He is wearing a supreme burgundy hat with his hood up, which connotes his trend to seem very original for his potential audience to look up to. Again by him not facing the camera directly, he is able to create a secretive yet edgy look. Also it could imply that he is thinking about the different girls as in the lyrics is says ‘and I’m not that guy and I’m not that guy’ and what he should do for the future as he comes across as a cheeky, boyish character throughout the video. Also Max is showing a serious face as he looks to the ground, possibly suggesting he wants to be taken professionally and as a serious artist and is aiming to make more than one single. We used Photoshop to crop max from an original photo we took and placed him into a background of a New York skyline, we believed this would look most effective as our music video itself is based in many cities such as London, Las Vegas, Barcelona and Miami. We wanted to link our locations with the inside of the digipak to make our audience more excited about what was to come in the video. Looking at the image we have created, we have portrayed Max to look ‘on top of the world’ in the sense that he is on a skyscraper in New York thinking deeply about his decisions. We have made him look successful just as he is releasing his first single, implying Max will be popular in the upcoming months.

This panel is a special ‘with thanks to’ to show the audience who was involved in the whole project, as not only was it Grace, Max and I, there were a number of others that also helped out while the video was been produced. We also wanted to display images of Grace and I on the digipak as we feel we were also a main part in the music video as well as Max. Therefore on this panel we took a closer up shot of me (Ellie) in black white, wearing an oversized black fur coat, showing some cleavage and what would be red lipstick if the photo were in colour. The photo shows voyeurism, as do I throughout the music video as I am in a bikini on the beach and wearing short dresses and heels. This outgoing type of character fits well with the digipak panel as it gives the audience a taster of what will

be included in the single.

The back panel of our finished digipak is also in black and white, colour co-ordinating with the previous panel, making it look professional yet edgy. We tried many different shots with Grace by getting inspiration from previous digipak’s that students had created. From this we gathered the idea of laying Grace lying showing her legs in the air. This mimicked the ‘fun’ character that Grace portrayed throughout the video, this is also shown as her hair is flowing as she smiles at the camera. We have added in the logos that we created onto the back on the digipak as we believe for a potential costumer to be interested, they will look at the front and the back panels, giving us a prime opportunity to advertise our brand. We added a barcode to make it look more professional, in the sense that a customer could genuinely buy a copy.
