    -: I ntroduction : -

    There are many methods for measurement of

    physical quantities like force, voltage, current,resistance and many more.

    This methods are mainly classified into two parts

    analog and digital measurement. Digital form is

    more accurate and modern form of measurement.

    Today I'm going to talk about digital measurement

    techniques.

    -: I ntroduction : -

    Now to measure physical quantities we need some

    instruments like galvanometer, voltmeter, etc.

    These instruments measure the required quantities intheir specific units like SI unit system eg. MKS

    (mass, kilogram, second).

    In this presentation we will see how this process is

    carried out.

    -: Digital Measurement of Voltage :-

    Voltage is the electric potential difference between

    two points, or the difference in electric potentialenergy of a unit test charge transported between two

    points.

    Its SI unit of measurement is volt (V) and subunits

    are millivolts (mV), microvolts (V), etc.

    It is used for measuring batteries.

    -: Digital Measurement of Voltage :-

    The figure besides

    shows the image of adigital voltmeter which

    is used to measurevoltage of givendevices.

    We can measure both

    AC and DC voltagesthrough this device.

    -: Digital Measurement of Voltage :-

    To measure the voltage we

    have to set propervoltage (AC , DC) and a

    proper range.

    Then we have to set a

    proper scale i.e.millivolts,

    microvolts,kilovolt, etc.

    -: Digital Measurement of Voltage :-

    Then we have to put the

    two pins of voltmeter onthe two points across

    which the voltage is tobe measured.

    Then the value displayedon the device is voltage

    between the two points.

    -: Digital Measurement of Current : -

    An electric current is a flow of electric charge.

    Electric charge flows when there is voltage presentacross a conductor.

    Its SI unit is A (ampere) given by columbs/second.

    Its subunits are miliampere, microampere, etc.

    Its is important to measure amount of charge passing

    through conductor

    -: Digital Measurement of Current : -

    We can measure both ACand DC current through

    this device.

    While measuring current

    through ammeterattention is to be paid at

    where we are attachingthe connecting wires.

    While measuring highcurrent wire should be

    attached at high currentport.

    If precaution is not taken

    than high current maydamage the ammeter.

    Digital ammeter makes

    measuring current very

    easy and accurate.

    This device as name

    suggest measures manyelectric quantities like

    voltage and current.

    With setting proper

    parameters one canmeasure both voltage

    and current with the helpof this device.

    To measure voltage the

    dial is to set at V markand for current at A

    mark.Than connecting wires are

    to be attached at the twopoints on the circuit

    where a quantity is to bemeasured.

    -: Digital Measurement of Force :-

    In physics, a force is any influence that causes an

    object to undergo a certain change, either concerningits movement, direction, or geometrical construction.

    According to Newton F=ma

    It's SI unit is newton (kgm/s.s) and smaller unit isknown is dyne.

    Force is measured by

    device known as digitalforce meter or force

    gauge.

    A digital force gauge isbasically a handheld

    instrument that containsa load cell, electronic

    part, software and adisplay. A load cell is an

    electronic device that isused to convert a forceinto an electrical signal.

    -: Digital Measurement of Force :-

    A force is applied at the

    hook end of the device.The pull or push force

    stretches the hook whichin turn measures theforce.

    This than shows readings

    on the display. So wecome to know amount of

    force.

    -: Conclusion :-

    So in this way different devices are present to measure

    different physical quantities.

    A proper instrument is to be selected to measure a

    proper quantity.
