result many students and residents of the area adjacent to the road are facing inconvenience. It is becoming a accident prone area. Affected Group- Students/ Children say they were unable to walk down on the road side or ride their bicycles as there are vehicles coming from opposite direction.

IMAGINE

State the problem you choose and why did you choose it?

Intentionally or unintentionally water is being wasted every day, everywhere. Recently our school was converted from a non AC to an air conditioned school and there were split ACs installed in every class. We noticed lot of water dripping down from these AC‘s. This gave us an opportunity to think of recycling this water for some useful purpose.

We chose this problem because this situation prevails everywhere these days- our home, offices, buildings, hospitals etc however is getting ignored. Making little changes in our day to day practices can help bring a massive change.

List the different solution you came up with and which one did you implement and why

Keep a big bucket in every class room and assign housekeeping staff to pick up and store in a big container for wiping floor, washing cars, washing clothes.

Spread the message around our locality to save water getting wasted through ACs and ROs. Implemented Idea - Talk to the concerned authorities of our school to help us make hardware/infrastructural

changes in a manner that the connecting pipes help the water to automatically get directed towards the storage/green area of the school

Idea was implemented because it helped us bring a permanent solution to the issue. It

This is our story of change

• Recently our school was converted from a non AC to an air conditioned school and there were split ACs installed in every class. We first thought to store water collected from every class room and store it in a big storage tank and use it for wiping floor, washing cars, washing clothes. However it was not a permanent solution and involved lot of manual work. An idea clicked that This water could be collected in a systematic manner and put in to a better use. Little changes in infrastructure could help us bring massive changes

• We proposed idea to connect all AC outlets to common outlet. Then collect water in a storage tank. With the help of a pump water can be routed to green area of the school.

• We formed a team of 15 students , Our representatives talked to school authorities about the concern. Our School administration liked the idea and approved budget for the implementation.

Today all the waste water of ACs is getting utilized for watering the green area of our school.
