December 10, 2015 Bryce Dinger 225 Peterson Drive Moscow, ID 83843 Dear Bryce, Congratulations! Your proposal titled, “Toughening bioplastic materials with nanosprings for improved strength qualities", submitted to the UI's Office of Undergraduate Research for an Undergraduate Research Grant, has been approved for funding in the amount of $1,000. Oversight of your project funding will be the responsibility of your faculty mentors. The Office of Undergraduate Research will contact your faculty mentor separately with information on how to access your project funding. Please note there are some important requirements tied to your Undergraduate Research Grant: Undergraduate Research Symposium: You are required to present a poster of your work at the university-‐wide Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2016. Further information and additional deadlines associated with this event will be sent to you via e-‐mail as the event gets closer. Note: Any photographs taken of you at the Undergraduate Research Symposium and other presentations of your research will be the property of UI and may be used in UI publicity materials. Final Report: You are required to submit a final written report of your research progress and findings. This report must include an abstract of your project (150 words maximum). The deadline for submitting this report is June 30, 2016; however, you are welcome to submit your final report earlier than this, e.g. in May if your project is completed by the end of the spring semester. Deadline for Expending Grant Funds: All funds must be spent by June 10, 2016, and funds must be expended as specified in your approved budget. Any major deviations from your proposed budget should be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Research for approval in advance of expenditures.
Update Your Contact Information: For assessment purposes, the Office of Undergraduate Research may periodically request information from you about any products that come out of your funded project, such as presentations or publications. It may also request information from you about your career plans and/or any postgraduate education plans. For this reason, you are required to inform the Office of Undergraduate Research of any changes that occur to your e-‐mail address or other contact information for up to two years beyond your date of graduation. By accepting this award, you are agreeing to meet the requirements outlined above. _____________________________________________ ______________ Student Signature Date Congratulations, again, on your award.
