JOB TITLE: Management Accountant LOCATION: Diocesan Office, St. Nicholas Church, Boley Hill, Rochester GRADE: Grade 8 REPORTING TO: Assistant Diocesan Secretary - Finance PURPOSE OF JOB To produce timely, accurate management information for the Rochester Diocesan Society and Board of Finance (RDSBF); to consolidate budget and forecast/business plan information for the RDSBF; to perform key reconciliation tasks; to assist with yearend processes and the preparation of the statutory accounts. JOB TITLE: Management Accountant

PURPOSE OF JOB

To produce timely, accurate management information for the Rochester Diocesan Society and Board of Finance (RDSBF); to consolidate budget and forecast/business plan information for the RDSBF; to perform key reconciliation tasks; to assist with yearend processes and the preparation of the statutory accounts.

PRINICIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting systems for the provision of monthly management accounting information and flow of accounting data through to the preparation of the trial balance at the end of the year.

Produce financial statements including budgets, cash flows, monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentaries.

Assist in the production of the annual budget, periodic forecasting and the annual statutory accounts.

Provide management reporting for decision-making, including project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis.

Ongoing review of cash flow and production of forecasts.

Monitor the Diocesan ‘Offer’ system, and other income streams, and clergy stipendiary costs preparing reports as necessary.

Management of capital expenditure.

Carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 3 years’ experience, including annual budget preparation, financial modelling and analysis, cash flow reporting and statutory accounts.

Qualified accountant from one of the CCAB-recognised Accountancy bodies or equivalent (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc)

Experience of computerised accounting systems, preferably NAV/MS Dynamic 2013, including report writing.

Proficient Microsoft Office user, in particular a strong aptitude in Excel. Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and to assimilate data into meaningful

financial information. A meticulous and methodical approach, with experience of developing

and improving working practices in line with organisational needs Proven experience in delivery of accurate, high quality work and reports

to deadlines and to required standards Strong project management and administrative skills with the ability to

remain motivated under pressure Excellent standard of written and verbal English with the ability to build

relationships and communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside of the organisation
