Programme Details
• The BSc (Hons) in Tourism and Hospitality Management is designed to provide the specialist knowledge that is required for the tourism and hospitality industries and the functional areas of business. It offers highly relevant modules that include Tourism Resources and Destination management, Hotel and Resort Management, Marketing Strategy, Human Resources, Strategic Management, Tourism Planning and Development and Research methods among others.
• The focus on academic, practical and transferable competencies and skills is aimed at enhancing employability and ensuring graduates are ready for the workplace.
• The aim of the programme is: “To develop graduates who have the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes required for entry level supervisory and junior management positions and to compete successfully with
international hospitality and tourism graduates.”
• The full time programme will be delivered over 8 semesters. Each semester consists of 14 weeks, with final examinations/assessments conducted in weeks 15-16.
• Full-time students will normally take five modules in a semester, while part-time students will normally take four modules in one semester.
• Students will also complete approximately 10-12 weeks of compulsory professional internship training which is divided into 2 sessions of 5-6 weeks each at the end of the second semester in the first and second years of study.
• At the time of admission students have the choice of registering either for the BSc (Hons) programme or for the co-designed Diploma programme.
