One of the goals of the Turkish Cultural Foundationis to contribute to the promotion and recognitionof Turk ish arts and art ists wor ldwide.To this end, the Foundation actively supports theexhibition of Turkish artists’ art work at internationalexpositions.The Turkish Cultural Foundation ispleased to pioneer Turkish participation at SOFAthrough a Turkish booth which will showcasecontemporary Turkish artists, aspiring andestablished, to art lovers, art galleries, andinternational artists at SOFA. One of the goals ofthe Turkish Cultural Foundation is to contribute tothe promotion and recognition of Turkish arts andartists worldwide. To this end, the Foundationactively supports the exhibition of Turkish artists’art work at international expositions. The TurkishCultural Foundation is pleased to pioneer Turkishparticipation at SOFA through a Turkish boothwhich will showcase contemporary Turkish artists,aspiring and established, to art lovers, art galleries,and international artists at SOFA.

YUCEL KALE graduated from Mimar Sinan University ofF i ne A r t s , Depa r tmen t o f Scu lp tu re i n 2000.The artist believes that the reflections on his glass objectscut or break into pieces, givingthem a new shape, are nothingbut fragments of his existence.Yucel Kale has exhibited hiswork in many solo and groupexhibitions and has won Second Prize at the Sakip SabanciArt Awards in Sculpture (2000).

ERKIN SAYGI AND RUHCAN TOPALOGLU: CAM ATELYESI

ERKIN SAYGIErkin Saygi completed his undergraduate education andreceived his MBA degree from the Institute of BusinessEconomics, Istanbul University, while working at Turkey’sprimary manufacturer of glassware - Turkiye Sise ve CamFabrikalari A.S. (The Sisecam Group). Charged with variouspositions within the Sisecam Group until 1990, when hewas appointed as the General Manager of PasabahceMagazalari A.S., theglassware retailingcompany of TheSisecam Group. Heretired in 2001 andfounded CamAtelyesi with RuhcanTopaloglu.

RUHCAN TOPALOGLURuhcan Topaloglu first entered the world of glass whiletaking a course on glassware cutting held by PasabahceGlassware Factory in 1973. He started to work at thePasabahce Factory and through the years excelled intoa master glass artist. He joined the Pasabahce MagazalariA.S. in 1997 and worked there as a glass artist until heretired in 2001. The same year, together with Erkin Saygi,he founded The Cam Atelyesi.

BERIL ANILANMERT undertook teaching duties at MimarSinan Universi ty from 1968 to 2005. In 1974 shecompleted her professional studies. In 1976 she becamean assistant professor and in 1976 a full professor. Shehas conducted classes and seminars in Modern CeramicArt as well as overseeing degree projects for undergraduateand graduate students. She has also organized nationaland international competitions, workshops, exhibitionsand conferences. Administrative duties such as AssistantDean and Head of the Ceramic Department have alsobeen part of her work. She has been invited to participateon juries and speak at conferences within and withoutthe country. Having participated in various radio andtelevision programmes, Anilanmert was given a bursaryby the Japanese Government and gained a certificate forher work ont i l eproduction.She taughta t A r i zonaUniversity as a guest artist. She is the author of manyarticles on art, education and creativity. Her works havebeen exhibited in Turkey, in Europe, Asia and America,and in many other countries such as South Africa andAustralia. In 1990 she received First Prize in the T. C.Ministry of Culture Ceramics Competition, and in 1991won the Grand Prize from Is Bank. Her works are to befound in collections in museums such as the Everson ArtMuseum, USA, and the Decorative Arts Museum of theCzech Republic in Prague Her art works may also beseen in many private and public spaces. Beril Anilanmert,is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics,whose headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. Thereis also a book called “Yet More Fire”, projecting her artand artistic career published by Canakkale Publications.

Born in Adana in 1962, LALE CAVULDUR studied atMimar Sinan Fine Arts University Department of Painting(1983-1986) She graduated from the Departments ofSculpture and Graphic-Painting at the Karlsruhe StateFine Arts Academy (1987-1990) and attended a Masterprogram at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig (1994-1996)The materials thea r t i s t uses a rep a p e r , c a s t ,p l a s t e r, c o t t o ngauze bandageand chicken eggs shells. In her works, she follows amethod to produce and transform her own materials byprocessing recycled papers and using the egg shellscollected from eggs eaten daily.Lale Cavuldur participated in numerous solo and groupexhibitions in Turkey and Germany. She currently teachesat Isik University, Istanbul.

MEHMET KUTLU graduated wi th Honor f rom theDepartments of Ceramic and Glass, Mimar Sinan FineArts University in 1998.The artist prefers materials such as glass and porcelainand uses serigraphy techniques. He depicts manufacturingdefects, contradictions and the language of his childhoodcombining them into the form, texture and color ofceramics.M e h m e t K u t l upa r t i c i pa t ed i nnumerous so loa n d g r o u pexhibitions and his ceramic works and tile designs receivedawards by the Turkish Television Radio (2001, 2003), theMinistry of Culture and Tourism Ceramic Competit ion(1997, 1998, 2002), Dumankaya Construction Co. TilesDesign Competition (1997), the Canakkale Ceramic TilesDesign Competit ion (1997), and the Aegean CulturalFoundation Wal l Plates Competit ion, Award (1997).
