We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away. A Letter from Bishop Peter Christensen

May 10, 2020 Dear Faithful gathered here today, I take this opportunity to thank you and your pastors, and parish leadership, for your response to our Masses being opened for public worship throughout our great Diocese. This past week I have spoken to our representative Deans, who have reported on the experience of the parishes in their deaneries as they begin services. By all accounts, the liturgies were handled extremely well by our priests, as well as those in attendance—each of you. The Governor’s guidelines were followed, especially those details having to do with social distancing and caring for the cleanliness of our worship spaces before each and every Mass. This past week I also spoke with our Governor Brad Little by phone. I expressed my personal gratitude to him as he has given us all direction during these trying times. For all who have cared for our public safety, we offer our thanks, as well as our prayers for continued wisdom in the days ahead. And now, I encourage all people of good will and faith to be people of hope, and not a people ruled by paralyzing fear. I believe if we take the precautions asked of us, with charity in our hearts that motivates us in caring for the well-being of others, then we will be blessed with good resolve to navigate all that is asked of us in upcoming days. Thank you for giving witness to your lived faith by your presence here today. And thank you for the many ways you live your faith by the care you offer others. I conclude with the encouraging words of the Psalmist taken from our Sacred Scriptures: Psalm 16:8-11:

I set the Lord ever before me; with him at my right hand, I shall not be disturbed. Therefore, my heart is glad and my soul rejoices, my body too, abides in confidence; because you will not abandon my soul to the netherworld, nor will you suffer your faithful one to undergo corruption. You will show me the path to life, the delights at your right hand forever.

Bishop Peter

Temporary Modified Mass Schedule and Location Change

As we resume holding Mass, all public liturgies must follow all CDC and State of Idaho social distancing guidelines. In order to accommodate parishioners during the weekend we are making some changes to the location and schedule of our Masses. Weekend Masses will be at the St. Mary's SCHOOL Gym.

• Saturday 5pm

• Sunday 8:30am

• Sunday 11:00am

• Please note the time changes on Sunday Daily Masses will be held at the church in Moscow at 8am Tuesday-Friday. Reconciliation will be available at the church in Moscow from 8am to 9am on Saturdays. Genesee Due to space limitations, we are not yet able to resume holding Mass in Genesee. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you come to Mass, please wear a mask! The Bishop's general dispensation is still in effect, and anyone who is over 60 years old, immunocompromised, or who feels uncomfortable attending Mass at this time is NOT obligated to attend. If you do choose to attend, please wear a mask, be mindful of maintaining a distance of six feet from others, and do not shake hands or hug your fellow parishioners. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

St. Vincent de Paul In the Gospel today, Jesus says “…whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. Through your

almsgiving you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. The donations placed in the St. Vincent de Paul 5th Sunday Collection baskets bring Christ love and compassion to the poor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Attention Catholic High School Seniors! Scholarship Opportunity! The Knights of Columbus will be awarding two scholarships for $750 to one male and one female

Catholic, college-bound high school seniors. Please contact the Parish Office to apply. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Special Prayer Request for the Easter Season Last September, Mary Beth Wells, her son Sam, and Jerry Bright began their journey toward joining our Catholic Church at the 2020 Easter Vigil, when they would receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. The pandemic virus, however, disrupted our time frame, but not our commitment to helping them enter fully into our Catholic community. As we eagerly await the day of their initiation, please continue to journey with us by keeping them, their sponsors, and the RCIA team in your prayers. We will keep you informed as the time draws closer so that we may all celebrate together. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ St. Mary's School Brief St. Mary's School is remaining in "soft-closure" while social-distancing guidelines are in place, which may extend to the end of the school year. The teachers are doing an outstanding job of continuing to provide an education to our students using a wide range of online tools and materials that are sent home. If you need to contact the School for any reason, call 208-882-2121 or email [email protected].
