GCSVs mission is to grow partnerships across the state using the resources

and civic engagement of national service programming and volunteerism to

solve community problems and improve lives. Inclusion is a key part of our

    mission and our vision.

Disability Inclusion and Involvement Mini-Grants will provide funding

opportunities for disability advocacy organizations to partner with National

Service Programs to develop and implement small projects that engage

people with disabilities in Georgias communities. The projects must focus onthe participation of persons with disabilities in service or service to persons

    with disabilities.

Examples of acceptable projects: Repainting a senior center, building a

ramp, creating a community garden, clothes drive for homeless veterans,

organizing an inclusive sports event, organizing a job fair for people with

    disabilities

What National Service Programs must I partner with? AmeriCorps State*

Programs, AmeriCorps National Programs operating in Georgia, or Georgia

Is a match required? No, but a match is highly encouraged. A match can be

in-kind (acquiring a facility, transportation, et cetera), cash, or both.

$10,000 available and hope to fund between 3-8 projects.

GCSV will award applicants based on the following criteria: the number of

expected individuals engaged to volunteer in the project, the anticipated

impact on those engaged and the benefit to the community. The GCSV may

choose to award a partial amount if funding requests are deemed excessive

or unnecessary, or based on the availability of funding.

Funds may be used for project materials, transportation, facility reservation

costs, and other costs considered pertinent to the success of the project.

GCSV requires that upon completion of the project, the grantee must

compile a short project report to document the success in relation to the

proposals made on the application (i.e. number of individuals with disabilities

engaged and a description of the days activities).

Prohibited activities include: political activities, proselytizing, and other

activities listed by the Corporation of National and Community Service

(CNCS). The GCSV reserves the right to withhold funding if any of the

activities are considered unacceptable. Activities must also fall under the

CNCS policy regarding the use of disability grant funds.
