GCSV will award applicants based on the following criteria: the number of
expected individuals engaged to volunteer in the project, the anticipated
impact on those engaged and the benefit to the community. The GCSV may
choose to award a partial amount if funding requests are deemed excessive
or unnecessary, or based on the availability of funding.
Funds may be used for project materials, transportation, facility reservation
costs, and other costs considered pertinent to the success of the project.
GCSV requires that upon completion of the project, the grantee must
compile a short project report to document the success in relation to the
proposals made on the application (i.e. number of individuals with disabilities
engaged and a description of the days activities).
Prohibited activities include: political activities, proselytizing, and other
activities listed by the Corporation of National and Community Service
