Disabled Access Registration Form Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Exeter We look forward to welcoming everyone to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter and will have various facilities in place to assist disabled listeners with tickets. We will also consider requests for additional, complimentary, PA/Companion tickets for those requiring one. Please note all these facilities are designed for use solely by disabled people attending the event and we are not able to accommodate those with short-term injuries, for example with broken legs, or women who are pregnant. If you would like to use some or all of our facilities, please notify us by Friday 13 th May to give us time to make the appropriate arrangements. Some facilities will only be available to a limited number of users and telling us your needs in advance will help us in the planning process. Travel Information: The event will be taking place at Powerham Castle, Powerham Park, Exeter. By Car: For disabled customers arriving by private vehicle, limited Blue Badge parking spaces will be available at this event. Use of the Blue Badge parking is free of charge and spaces will be allocated to customers on a first come, first served basis. We advise customers to book a space in advance. Anyone turning up on the day without making prior arrangements may not be able to access our facilities if they are full to capacity. To book parking please notify us in the extra notes section at the bottom of this form. We will require the below information from you in order to book you a space: Date you are attending Approximate time you are planning to arrive Name (Blue Badge Holder) Contact Number Vehicle Registration Number Make & Model of the vehicle Number of people travelling in the vehicle Address to post your car parking ticket to The venue will be signposted from the outskirts and at major junctions within a 5-mile radius. On the approach please follow the disabled parking signage. By Train, Bus or Taxi: Please visit our transport guide here: http://www.powderham.co.uk/transport-guide Arena Facilities: Viewing Platforms - The viewing platforms are for those disabled guests who would be unable to view the concert by any other means. In the main part this is most relevant to wheelchair users, those unable to stand for long periods or people who find being amongst big crowds difficult. It is for this reason that these guests are given priority in accessing the platform. Each of these people are able to have their +1 PA with them. In extremely busy periods PAs may be asked to move to the rear of the platform where direct one to one support is not required. The platforms operate on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee access to platforms at extremely busy periods. In the event of the viewing platforms becoming full we will operate a one in one out process. PLEASE NOTE: All viewing platform operates a strict No Smoking policy.

Seating - Will be provided on each platform for anyone who is not a wheelchair user, including a seat for guest’s PA/companion’s. Folding chairs are NOT permitted into the event. Toilets - There are unisex accessible toilets located in some toilet blocks on the site and specifically by the viewing platforms. We also provide unisex standard toilets at the viewing platforms for non-wheelchair users & PA/companions. Electrical Charging Facility – The location of where we can provide power points is still to be confirmed. Should you need to charge your wheelchair on the day please ask a member of staff on the viewing platform and they will be able to confirm this location. Customers with Hearing Impairments – An induction loop will be available near to the main stage viewing platform. If you have any questions regarding this facility, please email us at: [email protected] Strobe Lighting - You are advised that flicker, laser, strobe, fireworks and other lighting effects may be used during some performances. Medication - If you need to bring medication with you, we recommend bringing a doctor’s note or a prescription for it if it is not easily recognisable as bag searches will be made. Documents: It is important that we are able to identify those people who genuinely need the access and facilities we provide and sadly we are always faced with people trying to exploit this. Customers requesting use of disabled access facilities and/or PA/Companion ticket need to return this form with sufficient medical documentation to support their application and to validate their request. Examples of some of the supporting information we accept: • DLA/PIP entitlements clearly stating the levels of mobility and/or care awarded • The Access Card (http://www.accesscard.org.uk) • Medical letter(s) giving a brief description on your situation; and/or other medical documentation pertaining to your disability. Please feel free to cross out any details, such as reference numbers and amounts that are not directly relevant to your application. We will keep these secure and once we have reviewed them, we will immediately and securely destroy them. Please be patient and wait to hear from us.
