2013

DISCOP AFRICA HAS GROWN TO BECOME AFRICA’S MOST HIGHLY REGARDED CONTENT DEVELOPMENT, PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION INDUSTRY GATHERING.

The next edition of DISCOP AFRICA will take place from wednesday, november 6th, to Friday, november 8th, 2013,

once again at the SAnDtOn COnventIOn CenteR in Johannesburg, South Africa.

There has never been a better time to approach the future of content business in Africa with confidence.

Africa is empowered by young populations, rising advertising markets, rapid digital switchover processes, strong broadband and mobile penetration, and continued growth in multiscreen viewing and subscription revenues. Africa is also transitioning from a massive importer to producer of entertainment, educa-tional and informative content that is far more locally relevant. Strengthening domestic demand for home-grown content and increased overseas interest in Africa’s creativity are boosting regional and international partnerships as well as export opportunities.

Launched in 2008 to meet the continent’s ambitions, DISCOP AFRICA has been designed to:

• Facilitate content development, production and distribution business across and with Africa;

• Focus strictly on business deals and transfer of practical knowledge;

• Deliver high-level connections and superfast growth opportunities.

The annual, 3-day agenda includes:

• A MARKet showcasing top regional, multicultural and global Film and TV brands and their latest content.

• The DISCOPRO™ program mixing fund-raising and hands-on learning opportunities specifically tailored for new generations of independent content producers.

• The FORMAtS FROM AFRICA™ pitching competition promoting TV formats created in Africa, that have local, regional and international appeal.

• Numerous netwORKIng OPPORtunItIeS bringing together experts and key-players driving content business across and with Africa.

• Having grown to become Africa’s most highly regarded content industry gathering, DISCOP AFRICA is known for its advance planning of FACe-tO-FACe MeetIngS organized between qualified participants.
